APVs: is there really any difference?

In my analogy - and again I'll say analogies are limited - the Ducati is the cig size, the Honda Civic is the APV - the point being that even cig sizes can differ - and you could argue that a particular cig size is more like a Ducati compared to a particular APV being like a Honda Civic. Some would disagree. I wasn't even thinking about Egos - which aren't cig size. I've never looked down on Egos - lots of people use them. I have ego sized X2s myself that I like. They are regulated at 3.7 volts.
I don't quite see the point about 3x 650 twist + portable charger = 4000 mah or why you'd want to know if my APV can beat that? It seems a bit redundant because battery life does not depend solely on mah. It depends on the resistance of the attachment and the volts as well. Carry three twists and a PCC if that's what you prefer, or carry two 2000 mah IMRs and an APV if that's what you prefer. What does it matter anyway? Each person uses what they want to use. That was the point I made initially and will continue to make.

It's a matter of comfort. I prefer smaller sized batteries that charge up fast. It happens to me that sometimes I forget to charge and oops! out of batteries. The PCC lets me charge on the go, by the time I finish one the other is ready to vape, and the whole thing is a little inconspicuous package. I really wish it would be larger in charging capacity.

The only thing that draws my attention is to have a passthrough VW, and I'm really thinking about the eVic. But sooner or later that will come in a smaller form factor, meaning eGo sized.

eGo's regulators are great. You won't feel the difference until it drops off. It drives DC cartos strong with little drop in power... I feel I don't want an APV. Back in my time I had the first model Silver Bullet. It was a great improvement, considering KR808D batts lasted barely 2 hours. But with Twists I'm really not sure I want more!

I'm trying to be the shepherd... LoL!

In everything I do I've always tried to be less argumentative and more objective... Seems I've strayed off that path a bit here lately... I've noticed, and apparently you have too :)

I'll get back to my old ways... I was just overjoyed with my new toy and wanted to share that experience... But all too often it comes accross wrong.

Been meaning to ask you, I don't know if you sail lately.

The only thing that would make me consider buying a large APV over eGo Twists is that I start sailing long distances. Nowadays I do it once or twice a year, and a sailboat is not the same as a power cruiser... Yet, this year the Buenos Aires/Rio race (1 week long) was covered with 6 eGo and 2 PCC...

Oh, no... All my sailing has been under nuclear power! I would be lost on a sail boat! :)

Today I had to go somewhere and grabbed a 650mah X2 with a cartomizer - it was so convenient. Those seem so light to hold now.
I'm hoping we may see smaller vw pvs. The new Janty Mid looks like it may be smaller - but I'm not keen on some other things about. Size wise it looks like a slightly big Ego - that's just from watching a couple of previews though.

I am getting a Smoktech Groove soon. It has a 3800mah battery - like you with the sailing I'm thinking about my trips up to family and the beach. I'm not sure if it functions like the MVP where you can use it to charge cell phones etc. Edit: Not getting one now - thinking of getting the SVD.

The Groove doesn't have the charging option but it does keep a charge much longer than my MVP plus it reads resistance and has VW which I like. It lasts me at least two full days.

Hi tumbleweed - I just changed my mind on it. The MVP has a nice form factor. Think the SVD might be one I'll get. I am getting an AnyVape CVI soon too.

What made you change your mind on the Groove? It is really a nice PV and my favorite for weekend trips and is pocket friendly.

Phil Busardo's review - the fire button kept sticking and firing until cut off. And some-one I know on ecf said his sticks and won't fire sometimes. He likes it - but I want to wait and see if this is an issue that is just a couple of people or not. I was initially in a co-op to get one early, and was going to test it out - but then shipping was changed so others have tested it anyway. I feel a bit disapointed but I want to wait and see.

I heard that too but mine has worked perfect so far. It has the top fire button like the Gripper which I like and it has fired real good for me. The 3800 mah battery is awesome.

Ok. I know Phil Busardo's was probably a pre-production unit. I really wanted a vw box mod. I have a VMod XL coming - just straight 3.7 volt bottom feed. My one year anniversary is coming up so I am wanting to get something for that - I think it may be the SVD. I changed my mind and will get a Groove now as well. I was just going to test it out anyway - so if it works great that's a bonus for me.

Keep your eye on the GG forum, Imeo will be releasing his new Proteus VV slim PV soon.
