Aargh, I hate when the thread has moved a whole different direction while I'm typing my always overly long posts :glare:!

Happens to me as well Becky....However since being in this thread I have realized that I am going to get one of these high end devices to see how it does make the juice taste. I really don't want to buy a Provari because I have a Vamo , Lavatube , Evic that do about the same things. Im now looking at the REO...can you tell me more about it and how it made a difference in the taste of the juice<so i can stay with the thread> I see they have a VV Reo as well is that what you own?

The tide turned. A friend gave me his VV Gripper because he was afraid he was going to break it and wanted a mechanical like the LF or Tec Mod. OH boy. Did I notice a difference? Oh. YEAH. It's got that PWM thing that some vapers don't like. Me? I was blown away.

What is PWM?

Hi Railrust,
I just got a VMod XL today from Vapage - bottom feeder mod. Have to say its quite good with a 2.0 ohm atomizer attached. Any 510 atomizers work with them. If you want to try a lquid feed mod these are very good. The XL size fits in my hand nicely - not too big at all. Thought I'd give a heads up as they have a 30% discount at the moment - H8WP6 at checkout, runs until 25/02/13.
They don't do vv like the Reo VV Grand, but with a low res atty I've been enjoying it.

And they do survive the proverbial run over by a truck test.

In my analogy - and again I'll say analogies are limited - the Ducati is the cig size, the Honda Civic is the APV - the point being that even cig sizes can differ - and you could argue that a particular cig size is more like a Ducati compared to a particular APV being like a Honda Civic. Some would disagree. I wasn't even thinking about Egos - which aren't cig size. I've never looked down on Egos - lots of people use them. I have ego sized X2s myself that I like. They are regulated at 3.7 volts.

I'm sure I'm way behind the conversation, especially since it went to 33.33 Mhz and stuff way beyond my level, but I just have to say that I highly doubt that a cig-a-like compared to an APV delivers Ducati performance compared to Civic performance. The Civic may have all the roof and air conditioning and all that good stuff, but if the vapor was compared or used metaphorically to describe the performance of the device, forget the VV/VW and all that junk of the Civic and I'll take the vapor from the Ducati cig-a-like.

In my own little world
Is there really any reason to have multiple devices besides collecting them for the sake of collecting them? Or for those who do own multiple functioning units, why do some sit while others get used?

Yes, and at least in my case its surprisingly simple... Laziness.

I don't want to have to put in effort every time I change flavors -- I have about 2 dozen flavors I rotate, and i'll puff on 5-7 throughout the day. I don't want to have to swap out parts every time I want a different taste, so I keep 2 Provari's with various rebuildables or dripping attys, and 2 VMod's dedicated to a couple flavors with me at all times. Then I've always got the variety I desire without interrupting what I'm currently doing for the sake of a new flavor choice.

As far as differences between units -- absolutely, from build quality to amperage limitations to power loss/overhead to model-specific options (if thats your thing) theres quite a range of difference. They all ultimately end with the same results, but there certainly are differences between models that can make a difference. Those lines become more blurred the higher up the scale you get, and at some point it becomes more about hobby status than functionality -- but that doesn't negate that the differences from a lower range, mid range, and high range exist.

I think you may have missed my point - which was that you could argue either way depending on how you perceive it. And some people do.

Thanks I'll check it out. It looks like it is pretty much like the Vamo which I have. I do like the tank that comes with it so I will be getting some of those even if I don't get the SVD.

Those clearos with it do look interesting. Oh - I am getting the Groove after all. I don't think I've ever changed my mind so many times. But people are saying they are working ok and I've been told the one I'm getting had the fire button issue sorted. Now that I have the VMOD XL I like this box mod form factor. So a vv/vw will be nice to have too.

I think you will really like it I know I do especially the long lasting battery and wattage mode. It is a little bigger and heavier than the Gripper but still very comfortable to vape. I actually don't think there is any pv that is more comfortable for me than the Gripper though. I will be looking forward to hearing how you like it.

I've just ordered an eVic in a 18350 config. Two of those batts, plus the passthrough capability, and it might make me change my mind about an APV. It's little enough and it didn't break my bank (about 90 bucks, with the tube and 2 batts). No battery charger needded, I saved 30 bucks.

One of the things that I want from an APV is the fact that I change the batteries, much cheaper than buying a 30 buck twist every two months... We'll see!

As long as the Groove or the Innokin, I don't like the fact that I can't change the batteries. That's a nono for me. If you want a REALLY long lasting batt, get this Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mah Li-Ion for eVic [gv-Panasonic18650-3400mah-Batt] - $14.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I ran across this thread by accident but I can tell you that when I went from a Vmax (higher cycles) to a Zmax I noticed a big difference in taste. I run my Zmax so high now (12 watts rms) that the duty cycle is closer to 100% so it isn't really noticeable to me now. Oh and I'm all for PWM but really high feq, not 33. Just IMO of coarse.
