I bought an Aramax Power E-Cig last week. It was my first foray into Direct to Lung (DTL) sub ohm vaping, with high VG liquid etc. I'm using 6mg Nicotine and 70 VG/30 PG liquid.

Previously I had a Mouth to Lung (MTL) E-Cig, and I am now starting to miss the throat hit I'd receive from it. The Aramax Power vaping is extremely smooth with no throat hit whatsoever, although I was just wondering if there is any way to get a decent throat hit with it? Is it because it's DTL that is making it so smooth with no throat hit? If so, is it possible to change the Aramax Power from a DTL to MTL somehow?

I can also change the tank from the default tank to a 510 threaded tank, although I'm not even sure what difference this will make, if any. I was thinking that it could also be due to the fact my coil is 0.14 OHM, although they seem to be the only ones available for the Aramax Power.

TLDR: How can I get a bigger throat hit from the Aramax Power?

I’m not familiar with your device but I can help with a few things. Your juice being 70vg/30pg doesn’t provide much throat hit. The more pg in your juice the more throat hit. Higher pg also helps provide more flavor too. I started with 80pg/20vg but now I use 50/50. Vg provides more vapor while PG provides flavor and throat hit. Some people are pg sensitive but if your not than I suggest going with a higher pg juice. Nicotine content can help as well. Higher nicotine can give you more of a hit it just depends on how high you want to go. I’d start with more pg and if you still want more than up the nicotine. I like high nicotine so I don’t chain vape so keep that in mind. You can up the nicotine but still absorb the same amount by vaping less. I hope that helps and best of luck to you.

^^^^^This pretty much covers it.

Your juice is key. You will have to experiment with different ratios of VG/PG and nic to get the feel you want out of your new device.

Well, lowering nic will lower throat hit. I don't own that device, so I don't know if/how it might be amended to give you a different vape, but there are usually things that are possible to do (airflow, drip tip, wattage adjustment) although it's probably never going to vape like a true MTL tank.

As far as the rest, yes increasing PG should help. There are certain additives that claim to boost throat hit. I have not tried them.

However, if you are happier with MTL, use your MTL vapes, and chalk DL up as an "experiment." I arrived here with a DL setup and I was pretty unhappy. Some folks just prefer to be MTL vapers, and I am one of them. Realistically, with a DL tank, if you do make some adjustments, you may be able to raise your nicotine a hair. It really depends on how much you can close of the airflow, reduce wattage, and still get a satisfactory vape.

But in the end, if it's not working for you after trying some adjustments, well chalk it up to a "new type of vape" event, and wind up knowing that it wasn't the best of experiments, for you. Etc.

Best of luck,

Anna
