I'm pretty much convinced the eGo line of products is garbage. I started with 2 650 mah batteries. One of them died in a week and I think the second one is right behind it. Replaced it with a 900 mah. So now I have a 650 mah, a 900 mah, and a twist. The 650 puts out 3.9 volts, the 900 puts out 3.3 volts and the twist seems close to the markings. No consistency at all between the two one-voltage batteries. I can now see why some folks say they get good vapor and why others report less than satisfactory results.

I have 2 ViVi Nova mini's. One will fire on the 650 mah and not the 900 mah. The other will fire on the 900 mah but not the 650 mah. The twist will fire both Novas without a hitch. It seems weird that the twist will fire both novas at ANY setting, but with the other 2 batteries one Nova will fire on one battery and not the other. Basically one Nova will fire on one battery. the other Nova will fire on the other battery. Swap batteries between them and neither will fire.

I'm pretty new to the vaping world but I'm not convinced any of this eGo stuff is the way to go. I suppose it can be blamed on poor manufacturing processing across the pond, but it's still tossing good money down the drain, it seems.

Someone please tell me, and other beginners, there's a better way (products) to go about this. Took off yesterday to take a motorcycle ride and ended up buying a pack of smokes because the eGo stuff failed. there must be something more reliable out there....

Sorry to hear about your experience with the eGo battery line. Maybe it's from the vendor you ordered from?

I'm relatively new to vaping as well. I have two eGo-S batteries and two eGo-Twist batteries which I ordered from vapure.com . I've had these batteries since the end of September and they have been performing like a champ. I haven't had any issues at all with them.

Sorry to hear about the battery dying so early, that's unusual but can happen due to manufacturing defects. The compatibility problems are not typical at all and need further investigation. May be related to the low voltage, which doesn't sound right at all. In fact on balance it sounds like some component is damaging your batteries, since the 900mAh unit is now apparently faulty too.

Please don't blame eGo products, there are millions of them working out there just fine. I suspect you'll get to the bottom of it with some persistence. But be aware that not all JoyeTech clone products are manufactured to the same standards either.

sorry to hear that did your supplier warranty them? also check the center pin on the battery if you crank the vivi or charger on to tight it might have compressed the pin (thus it can't connect to your atomizer) try using a paper clip and carefully lifting it a millimeter or so. otherwise I really only have only seen less than a half percent of bad ego style batteries.

Battery centre post got pushed down. It's a normal issue, and vivis are notorious for it. It isn't limited to Egos, I had it happen to my Lavatube multiple times. It's also not limited to vivi novas being the culprit.

Center Pin Issue - Fixing a non firing eGo battery - YouTube

After doing this, check your vivi novas side view. If their centre pin is sticking out a bit you can take sandpaper to it. Put sandpaper on a flat surface, swipe vivi across it once or twice. Check pin and see if it's stll sticking out. Do this until it's flush with the threading. If you overdo it you won't be able to screw them down enough to make any contact with any battery. Make sure to not sand off much/any of the threading.
I've gotten a vivi nova and that pin was sticking out a full 1.5mm easily.

Contact the vendor where you got the defective eGo batteries. They should still be covered by the warranty and be replaced. There are a lot of "knock off" brands being sold whose performance may not be up to snuff. May be worth paying a little more for genuine brand products and avoid any future frustration.

Not touting this company in particular (although they are a very reputable online vendor), but AltSmoke is an example of a company that sells genuine brand products. AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Your one stop shop!

Don't allow this temporary setback affect your goal of quitting cigarettes.

Ok tried the pin trick. Battery just blinked one time and did nothing else. Put the other Nova on it works. I'm wondering now if it's the coils. I did get a bad batch of them but the vendor said no way they would replace them. It's still weird that both Novas will fire on the twist but hit and miss on one-voltage batteries. thanks for the idea though. Always good to know something like the center pin.

I love my twist.
I have one now too but I don't think it's really needed with 1.8, or even, 2.4 coils. i haven't been able to tell much difference unless I crank it up and taste burnt juice. Not much difference in vapor from say 3.4 to 3.9. After that it just burns juice. 50% / 50% juice is what I'm using with a Nova.

How are you using yours?

Joyetech is the original manufacturer of the eGo battery. As others have said, there are tons of knockoffs of varying quality that will advertise themselves as eGo but are not Joyetech.

The word 'eGo' is now used industry wide to refer to this style of battery, not necessarily the manufacturer. There are many products that use the term eGo to tell the customer that the item is compatible with the eGo form. An eGo battery has a 510-threaded atomizer connection and then it has another set of threads on the outside for the eGo cone. There are accessories like clearomizers that will be referred to as eGo clearomizers because they are compatible with eGo threading. They come from many different manufacturers. Some are good. Some are bad.
