And yet, all the attention is focused on nicotine. I will never understand that.
I plan to stock up as much as I can, but I certainly don't have an endless bank account.
Most government officials are actually trying to help, but they are controllable via the information they receive. That is what lobbyists do, and why they are paid so much. the trick to getting the government to do the right thing is to get them to know what the right thing actually is. Educate your representatives.
And most importantly they have become dependent on that cash flow. At this point if cigarett tax revenues go down someone loses their job. I talked to a guy in the mall trying to sell some proprietary gel based ecigarettes, and he mentioned that he had a run in that morning with the government. they asked all sorts of questins a d demanded to examine his stock. It wasn't the FDA or the ATF whom you would think of as being the appropriate agency, it was the state IRS.
Nobody is trying to ban vaping, but the FDA is trying to make it more expensive by making vendors conduct clinical trials and install ventilation systems or something
Comparing the cost of eJuice to Nicorette (classified as a medicine; in the US license is held by GlaxoSmithCline):
1) 30ml of 30mg RY4 from FreedomSmokeUSA :
cost $15 divided by 30ml divided by 30mg nicotine per ml = 1.4 cents per mg nicotine
2) 100pieces of Nicorette with 4mg nicotine each from Nicorette.Stop Smoking Aid Gum 4 mg | Walgreens :
cost $50 divided by 100 pieces divided by 4mg nicotine per piece = 12.5 cents per mg nicotine
The nicotine in Nicorette is over 10 times more expensive 8-o.. the kind of prices we're seeing now for eJuice won't be around for long, just sayin
Don't know if this has been said yet, but there is no* downside to stocking up. You will use the atomizers, cartridges, batteries. *The only possible downside is getting 'too much ejuice' (or DIY stuff) because of expiration dates, but if you know your consumption level, you can continue to add ejuice stock as needed. And if you overdo it a bit - there's always classifieds. And just like cigs will be 'currency' (like ammo) in worst case scenario - so will ecigs, batts, attys, ejuiice.
"Everything" isn't necessary. All you need are atomizers, carts, and nicotine liquid. You can build a mod for 25 bucks.
there are threads on that here. The impression I got is that it is not especially easy. The best one I saw involved buying a spool of nichrome wire, taking apart and desoldering dead atomisers, and resoldering on a new heating coil. Doable though. IIRC they were using fiberglass from a furnace gasket for a wick, which srikes a bit of fear into me personally.
Another one involved various home brew vaporizers designed for pot. You can evn buy them if paraphernalia is legal in your state. It is in mine so I don;t know how they are going to stop ecigs, at least here, but I was talking to a guy at a mall store, and he said the IRS was sniffing about and asking about e liquid so they're likely to try to go after that here. I may go buy me a big bottle of nicotine from china while the getting is good and then DIY.

wow what bissness do they have to examine some1 stock of gel cigs....these .......s need to be put in there place.....some1 needs to stand up to them and tell em we not gonna take it !!!
The current court case is all about determining how electronic cigarettes will be classified.
Right now the FDA considers them to be drug delivery devices.
And that is what they would be classified as if nobody was challenging that in court.

I'm wondering- how many tobacco plants would you need to supply yourself with home-grown nicotine for vaping? I'm sure there's other complications like harvesting, extraction, etc. but I wonder how many plants would get me 1000ml of medium-strength eJuice for personal use

They aren't as big as they look though.
But yeah, you CAN use them to beat down muggers.
