I've been using the real vivi nova's since I started. Sorry for a Noob's opinion but they are really easy to use. I've got 4 mini nova's and 5 of the 3.5ml mega's. I've also got the boge LR and tried the SR once. Got the LR in standard and XL size. I'm like the OP and I don't want to be tied to a bottle to keep filling it up all day long. The nova's are easy to clean and the coils are fairly cheap,( about $3 for what ever one you want.) I'm lazy and don't want to have to mess with things everyday. When I'm off work then it's fair game for all the playtime. When at work I don't have the time for messing with anything but work.
Stay away from the stardust, mine leak like a seive. The bottom coil like Kanger t3's (i think that's the one) are really nice but have a very airy easy draw on em.

I got so fed up with all the burnt tasting boge's I was buying (XL LR) and trashing that I started using the Got Vape's Phoenix. LOVED them! They weren't perfect but so much better than a carto. Then came the Vivi Nova that I'd been seeing on the Got Vape's site. Everyone on here was raving about them but I didn't like the look of them. I wanted something more streamlined so I got the mini and broke down and got the 3ml tank too. With the 3ml tank they give you three different resistance head. I like my vape to be hot and lots of smoke without having to suck it to death. The head I liked the most was the 2.8 and vape it between 4-4.8 on my ego twist. If you don't have a variable volt battery, it works great on my old kgo at 4.2 volts. I for one, will never go back to cartos and have a number of unused boxes of them put away. Also, they have a sleeve that covers the threads and makes it look better to me:) eGo Thread Sleeve Type C Large Tank - Fits All Std eGos CHROME [gv-egoTYPEC-LargeTankeGoThreadSl] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Good luck to you!

I've been using smoktech dual coils 1.5 single punched in tanks for quite awhile now. Get multiple tank refills on them, very little flooding and no burnt taste at all. I vape thru a lot of juice a day, so had multiples dedicated to one juice each and just vaped around from device to device. Mostly on kicked SB's or my Provaris.

I like my kangers on a Helix or the BAM, great flavor and hits on both devices with them.

Lately I've started dripping a lot. Seems like the last few weeks I have a device at hand with a bridgeless dripping atty on it all day long.

No matter whether its a carto in a tank or a kanger horizontal naked carto or dripping everything is LR 1.5 to 1.8. I like my vape warm with lots of vapor. Mix is always 50/50, I DIY.

I certainly hope cartomizers aren't becoming a "thing of the past"! I've been doing this vaping thing for a year now...and have tried all manner of delivery systems...tanks, clearos, CE2s, etc. etc. . I'm back on cartomizers...and have no desire to change. When using KR808 equipment like the X2, I like to use Elite (CigEasy) cartomizers. I got a special cone to go with. I also like Kanger horizontal bottom coil XLs and the SI XL blanks. I don't like Boge. For my eGo type stuff...510 threaded...I prefer the EMSCC and the EMDCC SmokeTech cartomizers. For my VV devices I'll use 3ohm. For my regular eGo stuff, including the eGo T Mod I like 2ohm during the day and 1.7ohm at night when I want more "punch" to my vape...and a warmer hit. I use dual coils (1.5ohm) only at night mostly...during those stressful times. But I don't like how they get hot to the touch and tend to make my juice more harsh. But that's just me. They are fine for a little while, but then I am ready to go back to my EMSCCs.

I've notice some more interest in the 1.7 ohm single coil eGo Mega cartomizers lately. This is good. I hope that means that people like me that have found their "perfect vape" aren't going to have to regroup and go through the whole hunt and search bit all over again!!! BTW...hubby also vapes and has tried all sorts of delivery systems too. He also prefers EMSCCs...and the Vision dual coil cartomizers. There sure must be more of us out there...??!
HI, Where can I find the Vision Dual Coils?

thanks so much everyone for all the ideas!! seems the vivi nova gets the most votes, so i guess that is where i will start. i had considered a bottom feeder back before i got my first vv device, but since i was using cartos decided against them. i figure someday i will try one, but right now i just dont want to put out the cash for another device, when i have so much invested in what i already have

my current pvs are the vmax, the persei, and a mech mod from a co op. i vape between 4.2 and 5v due to how low ohm my cartos are. i have a bunch of higher ohm cartos to try and so far i hate them, there is just no vapor at all!! even cranked my vmax up to 6v and hardly a poof!! wth???

o and btw, i have also tried the fusions and the diamonds from IKV, the fusions are def a diff kind of vape, and while i do like it the adapter and the size is still an issue for me. i like the diamonds too, but again not big enough.

are there no new cartomizers being developed? ppl seem to know about the next new clearos or tank type devices, is there any news out there about cartos??

So lethalp u might say, why not try dripping??
I have tried dripping, I recently bought some IO6 attys but have not gotten them out yet. For me dripping just doesn't fit into my life. I have kids and dogs and it's a lot easier to drip a few drops in my carto than to have to carry a bottle around and drip every few hits. I do see it's value, and will sit and drip on occasion when the house is empty and quiet (that hardly EVER happens btw)

Bottom feeder. Dripping with all the convenience of not having to do it manually.

I agree with a lot of points here:

Try horizontal coils.

The shorties look promising if you don't need a tub full of joose with you.

The Novas can't be beat - the minis are nice and sleek for when you're out and about.

Cartomizers will never go away. Too many newbs will need them until they decide to upgrade.
Plus, lotsa folks in this forum are sick of trying to find the perfect tank only to be let down.
Cartos are a snap - fill 'em up the night before, and jet in the a.m. They work well on 65mm
and 78mm ecigs, too.

Seems to me, the bigger the carto, the less I like them. They seem great at first, but then
the draw becomes bad, the flavor suffers, and like another poster said, they are joose hogs.
Problem with that is, you fill it with a ton of joose, then it dies, and you lost your joose.

If you think you might like a tank - Vivi Nova. If you want something more like a clearo-
mini Nova .. or .. I'm reading almost nothing but great reports about the Kanger T3. That's
on my list next payday.

No, cartos won't go away. I do use the Vivi Nova and Replaceable Stardusts, but I also use Smoktech DCTs with both 1.5 ohm dual coils and the 1.7 ohm single coils. The Nova and Stardust perform well and are prettier and easier to fill but I keep finding myself keeping around the DCTs and going back to them.

I'm gonna say something about the nova's. I really like the mini nova the best of all. I using a prototype bottom feeder right now with my favorite juice. I got a couple of more like the kanger but I have no name on or for them. I really like the bottem feeders. The prototype is great but it took me a couple of days to figure it all out. It started to gurgle and just wasn't right. Finally realized that it needed to be fed. Fill it up and it's great for now. Only been trying it a couple of days so I really can't say what the long run will be. I've just about decided to get some more mini nova's. I change juice more often than I do underwear. I carry about 6 different flavors every day. I've had some problems with the stardust like them leaking all the juice out on the counter. But for the price I can deal with that. When I get a stardust that works right I really do like the size and vape from it. I'm not into the low ohms at this time, but I know I will be when I run out of the 2.4ohm heads. I just don't think my vmax will take the low ohm head cause all I get is burnt taste within a few vapes. (Get it right smoktech).

I'm still really sad about bogegate. Plus I feel bad for people like the folks at phiniac. They make beautiful tanks that are now useless. :(

While I have a couple Vivi Nova's and while I do use them occasionally I still MUCH prefer a tank with a good cartomizer in it AND the last 10 I bought from Hoosiers E Cig Supply have all worked like a charm. I pushed at least 50-60 Mls of juice through each one too maybe even a little more.

XL 2 ohm single holes. I am not sure if they sell Boges or Smoketechs but whichever they are selling now work just fine. Pre Punched Replacement tank cartomizers

And NO I am not a shill for Hoosier's.

It's quite a relief for me too cuz after burning through at least 10 BAD boxes of boge's I was just about ready to toss my tanks in the trash and just force myself to use the Vivi's.

The only thing I've seen is the Stallion that GV has. But it was supposed to be a hybrid that had alot less filler. Unfortunately they failed and still advertise it as less filler, but it's not.

Seems everyone is focused on PV's and rebuildable atty's now. Still, it seems like it's better than just a few years back. I know that Ikenvape is usually out of stock ( or closed) but have you tried his cartos? He is coming out with a new series now.

I just stepped out of the vivi nova world. I've only tried pre-filled cartos, the ego-t tank/atty, the ego-c tank atty, dripping on a 510, and the visions clearomizer line of stardusts/vivi novas/mini vivi novas.

I've had the same issue with all but dripping...DRY BURNT HITS. The vivi nova was my first "tank" like system and I adored them for a month but up until a week ago I have begun hating them for the oversized clearomizer that they are. I bought a second nova two weeks ago along with three replacement heads. The new head on the nova seemed to be taking forever to break in. I literally tasted nothing but air. So I tried two new heads...same issue. Two more...same issue. Trimmed and fiddled with them in EVERY way possible and while a few "decent vapes" were acomplished, it was short lived and not an acceptable vape at all.

So I placed an order for an Ibtanked OCD tank and am impatiently waiting. I'm tired of mass produced chinese inconsistency. Cartos are also a lot cheaper than the replacment heads that barley last half as long. It was a no brainer. So I'll be vaping this flavorless vape very irritably until Thursday when a REAL tank arrives.

My only advice I can offer is to stick with your cartos or try an OCD tank. It seems like you've tried low quality tanks and your impression is negative for specifically that reason but I've heard nothing but great reviews of OCD tanks. They're made of high quality materials and AREN'T from china. However the most logical thing seems to be to stick with simple cartos though.

Do you really need to find a new juice feeding system or are you just in an adventurous mood?

Not by a long shot. ViVi Novas have a lot of popularity right now and work great for some people but others have noticed a big improvement in flavor moving up to carto tanks.

Clearomizers just dont wick high vg juices that well without tinkering and certainly arent the be-all and end-all when it comes to juice delivery.

For those that dont want to tinker or mess with RBAs or dripping, cartos are still a great option for portability and flavor especially when coupled with a pyrex tank.

    Depends,
Truth be told that E-Cigs started out as cartomizers, looking back in the short time line of them we see that several models that started this were cartomizers, Blu being one notable one.
Carto's gave way to Clearomizers and tank systems, specifically the eGo type. This entered the time of dripping on to the atomizer as well, of course mods started as well and bottom feeders were becoming more popular. the Viva Nova is really an adaptation of a clearo top coil in a tank much as the carto tanks that are in use today, typically often times necessity is the mother of all inventions and the limited storage for liquid in clearo's was an issue so the clearo tank was developed.
I personally say that no one individual will sway what I do as I make vaping my own with the choices I make. Yes I'm old school and still drip proudly at home for flavor and taste. I use a Genesis and do have a Viva Nova that I hit from time to time as well as a carto tank. Pretty much vape what you like and don't worry about the rest. There will always be something "New and Shinny" on the market.

I agree with BlkWolfs sentiments in regards to using whatever works best for you but I wanted to clarify that juice delivery timeline a bit since its a little messed up.

Modern electronic cigarettes started out using an atomizer that was in two pieces. You had the atomizer and either a drip tip or a cartridge. You could either drip directly onto the atomizer or fill a cartridge with liquid.

Cartomizers came next and featured a one piece design. These enjoyed a lot of popularity but had drawbacks including dry hits and not very much capacity for liquid.

The first clearomizers came out shortly after cartos and were abandoned by most as being unreliable due to their tendency to leak everywhere.

The first tank system commercially available was an Ego-T that consisted of a small tank reservoir that was filled then punctured and dripped directly onto an atomizer via gravity.

Then what are most commonly know as tanks or carto tanks were developed on this forum in the modders section. People used plastic tubes and glass test tubes to create the carto tank. By punching holes in the cartomizer so it would wick juice from outside and using grommets to seal the tube it virtually eliminated the two main drawbacks of cartomizers, dry hits and smaller juice holding capability.

Clearomizers also made a comeback during this time and with newer technologies that proved to be more reliable.

With the advent and use of carto tanks modders turned their focus onto rebuildable atomizers (They had been working on these almost right from the start partly fueled by fears of a ban and no U.S makers of the product at the time) they then combined tanks and rebuildable atomizers into one system and RBAS were born.

Vivi Novas are the new kid on the block and combine the internals of a clearomizer with the convenience of a plastic tank. They also had the un-looked for benefit of being rebuildable and are also extremely easy to fill and maintain. Some people also call them tanks but the more correct and less misleading term is clearo-tank.

Theres your history lesson on the evolution of juice delivery systems in a nutshell. If any other old timers see anything wrong in that timeline feel free to shoot me a pm and I'll change it, my memory isnt what it used to be but I think I got it right. Thought that some of the newer people would be interested in seeing this.
