Everyone I've met who vapes are doing it for two reasons:
1) it's WAY healthier than smoking, and
2) it's cheaper than smoking

Every hipster I've ever met is:
1) obsessed with making destructive lifestyle decisions, and
2) proud about how much money they spend to look like bums.

That makes vaping about as un-Hipster as an activity could possibly be...

I am a vaper. I enjoy it very much.

That being said, the first time I saw someone else vaping, it just struck me as very odd. It was a clerk in a vape store, vaping an APV with a tank. It just looked weird.

I can only imagine others having a similar reaction. Maybe more so for those not already introduced to the concept.

I currently use a Provari with a textured glass tank on top. It does not look anything like a cig. It either looks illegal, or pipe bomb-ish.

So if I get weird looks, then I go back to how I first felt when I saw someone else vaping.

Most people are suspicious of new things. So I don't worry too much about converting them to the vape-side. I may whip out my vape-stick in front of smokers to possibly generate interest and a conversation, but I'm stealthy around non-smokers. Most non-smokers have no reason to view vaping as positive so why bother.

At my age, I'm not trying to blaze trails and convert the populace, I'm just trying to make healthier choices where I can.

So I got my eGo twist in the mail today and I'm really impressed. I've only smoked one real cigarette since I've got this thing working, and when I was smoking that cigarette, I wished I would have been using my ego twist. Tonight I decided to show a good friend of mine what I had purchased via grimmgreens youtube video on the twist. She started laughing, literally. She had never seen an e-cig like this before (as most of the general public hasn't). She called it a douche stick, and said it looked like something a hipster would carry around.

I explained to her that I know that it's kind of weird. I thought it was weird the first time I saw one. But It's causing me to smoke 80-90% fewer cigarettes, so I'm going to continue to use it. She then started to see the point of it, and slightly changed her attitude. But she still thinks it's weird. How long do you think it'll be before these things become socially acceptable? Or will they ever? And I'm not talking about cig a likes. I'm talking about the stuff that works.

Why care what others think about it. I would rather vape then switch back to analogs any day of the week and would not let others influence me into that lifestyle again regardless of how they perceived it. When others give you strange looks or say negative things to you about it is the perfect time to educate them on what it really is and maybe convert more people into this great community. Keep calm and vape on friend!

I don't vape to look "hip." I do it to improve my health vs smoking. Can you imagine a 69 year-old woman trying to look "hip" with what she carries or wears? Think Walmart bare belly or donut bellies.... sheesh... there does come an age. I'm at the age where "hip" means be careful or pain. LOL I guess if one never smoked and wants to vape only for appearance then 0 nic would be the way to go just as it is for dieters. But the "hipsters" might want to think about looking like one of those instead.

I used to smoke American Spirits, but never knew they were hipster!

I think my PV is cool. I look at it as being technology smart and a true cost saver. I certainly would never fit into the category of hipster, so I could care less what anyone thinks when they see me using it. Regardless of what sort of name they want to give it, it's kept me away from cigarettes for over a month now and that is all that matters to me.
