I've always felt that glass tanks are easy to break if you drop them. But it seems like ppl like them because certain juice reacts with plastic. I've never ran into any juice that reacts with plastic, so can someone tell me what they are? What other benefits of glass tanks are there?

Or is it more of a taste thing? juice taste better in a glass tank than in a plastic one? Like Coke?

Cinnamon and citrus are notorious tank crackers, but I've seen a list of flavors that might crack a tank. I went to glass for that reason and if there is any difference in taste, I haven't noticed it. So far as I know that is the only difference between the two. Stick with the juices you currently vape and save some money. If you run into one that destroys your tank it probably isn't a big loss. If you liked the liquid for however long you got to use it, go with glass.

I dropped my VV Ver3 twice this week with the Protank 3 on it. Once it bounced off the battery and then hot on the carto end. No breakage. The other time was a straight drop and it really didn't hit on the carto end at all. Still no breakage. But drop it the wrong way and it prob would break.

Of course, the juice in my there would have destroyed a plastic tank, so I think I am coming out ahead.

I've broken 2 glass tanks on my PT2's so far by dropping them on the floor at work over the past year or so. The replacement glass is only $3-$4 each so it's not a big deal other than the inconnvenience, and clean up.
Having a glass tank for me is essential because of the 'red hot' cinnamon juice that I like to vape.

Some say that juices taste better from a glass tank because of the notion that some plastics may react with the juice and taint the flavor somehow, whereas that won't happen from a glass tank. I can believe that, but I haven't personally tasted that myself. It makes sense.

I just like using glass tanks so I never have to worry about what juice I put in it. It's always good to go.... unless I break it again. :toast:

Plastic is notorious for leeching chemicals anyways. Glass all the way.

Glass doesn't retain taste or leach BPA...

Only in urban legends...snopes.com: Reuse of Plastic Bottles

Johns Hopkins researcher Dr. Rolf Halden.....

There is another group of chemicals, called phthalates that are sometimes added to plastics to make them flexible and less brittle. Phthalates are environmental contaminants that can exhibit hormone-like behavior by acting as endocrine disruptors in humans and animals. If you heat up plastics, you could increase the leaching of phthalates from the containers into water and food.

If your plastic tank is flexible, squeezable, this may be an issue.

yeah, just saying things that have already been said, but plastic has a habit of retaining flavors and scents. I have an iclear16 tank I can't use for anything but this one juice that is really strong. Used it in there once and can't get the smell out of it now.

Pyrex doesn't retain smells or tastes, and normally it's pretty thick stuff. As long as you're not trying to break the things it should be pretty safe for every day use. I take my protank 2 with me to work every day, and it does fine. It's also easier to clean in general, it looks better in my opinion, and it might be a stupid worry but I'm always concerned about something melting or threads rounding with plastic stuff. Never have that problem with glass or metal.

I switched to glass because of my fluids. I stuck with em because most of them can break down for easy cleaning and don't retain tastes of flavors. I was worried about them breaking in the beginning, but the only thing I've broken in the last year was non-metal drip tips, my tanks have survived with no problem. I can't count the number of times they hit concrete since I used to work in a warehouse setting. I have yet to break a tank yet, though I probably will now since I've bragged about it ;)
