Are standard dripping atomizers dead?!

When I first started vaping about a year ago, I had clearomizers and cartos and then bcc's and went straight to mechanicals and RBAs. I can build awesome coils at almost every resistance with ease, and I stopped using RTA's because I'm on this DRIP TRAIN that I don't think is going to ever come to a stop. I'm an official dripper now and cant use anything else. With that said, I was in the market for another rda, but I thought about standard atty's. Now don't get offended by this, but does anybody still use them? Is the flavor and vapor production more or less superior than a rebuildable dripping atomizer? I'm considering trying one, but I want some input before I go that route.

Not for me or many others. There is a 166 page behemoth thread asking the same question http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizers-cartridges/405910-regular-atty-drippers-dying-breed.html

Oh, for me the HH357 is a good atty, but there are others that cost 1/3 of the price and perform as well (or almost perhaps) Just take a look in the thread, there are many atty suggestions (especially the later posts) One in particular I would put up against any Cisco atomizer would be a kidney puncher long barrel. It's $6 and provides an excellent vape with good pure flavor.

I use RDAs, liquid bottom feeders and regular 510 attys (and other things too). They all have their uses, advantages and drawbacks. I use one for testing flavors or for therapy when sitting in front of the TV. I find the whole drip / vape cycle quite relaxing.

I'll check that thread out. One more thing while we're here... I'm kind of a cloud chaser I guess. Do standard attys put out good vapor production as well as taste?

The lowest atty resistance I have seen is a 1.5ohm. So you can crank it up and get decent vapor - nothing like a low-resistance dual coil build or a high wrap micro coil for sure (mainly because of the restrictive airflow I think) but they do produce a good amount.

For me, it's a flavor thing, I don't think I could recommend them for cloud chasing as there are much better things to chase clouds on.

I absolutely love convenience, I have been in terrible situations when trying to build before work and I fail, thus not having a pleasant day of vaping. I cannot vape out of a clearo or carto anymore because of the muted flavor IMO, so I would love to have something simple, just throw it on and vape away. Does taste surpass high end clearos and cartos or even coil and cotton? I want the truest flavor and I'm willing to sacrifice vapor production for best taste.

I can't stand cartos or clearos. If I wasn't dripping then I'd still be smoking.

I'd echo what JP said. Once I discovered dripping and liquid feeders I have no desire to go back to clearos. I do occasionally break out a vivi nova and have a vape, but there is nothing that comes close to the ease of use, flavor and vapor of a well set up micro coil on a Reomizer2.

I used a VMOD for a while with the Kidney Puncher attys I mentioned earlier - that was a solid set up too.

I've always said that every new vaper should get a 510 atomizer included in their starter kit - it's really a simple way to get a great vape.

It's going to have to be something earth shaking to get me off a RDA. Nothing premade compares in vapor, flavor, cost and ease of use. You said it yourself once you learn how to build a quality coil who's going to do it better. With some RDAs having a deep well and the right wick you can load up 30 drops or more and enjoy for awhile. Yea, I like kayfuns and gennys but give me a dripper some cotton and a little kanthal, and good juice it's all I need.

Not everyone prefers the same type of vape. My RDA's don't hold a candle to my HH.357s in delivering the highly nuanced, layered flavors from the type of juices that I personally prefer although I understand why people are fond of RDAs. The HH.357s are expensive but they last me months so the daily cost is negligible.

It took me much experimentation with different juice delivery devices to settle on what I prefer. I encourage others to do the same to find what they find works best for them.
