I just ordered my first Pico and looking forward to receiving & trying it out. I have a question about firmware upgrades - is there a way to find out WHAT it does before you indulge in it? I'm asking because in a review I read somewhere from a Pico buyer, he said that after he upgraded, his Pico wouldn't charge any longer so I sure don't want that to happen!!! Thanks for any advice.

Well, I found the Firmware Upgrade info (hope it helps someone else as much as it helped me!)

What’s new in firmware V1.01? (this is for the eleaf PICO mod)
1. New interface for VW mode:
The new interface for VW mode displays resistance of coil, wattage setting and battery bar more clearly, allowing you to have a check easily by a simple glance.

2. Smart mode:

The Smart mode will save one output power setting for each resistance value and can totally save ten groups of such profiles. Once you change the output power setting for a resistance, it will re-save the changed setting automatically. When the Smart mode has already remembered ten profiles and you want to add another new resistance, the first saved profile will be deleted.

3. Custom logo:

You can download or make logos to your preference and put the favorite one in the mod. The logo should be single color picturein the format of bmpwith limited 96*16 pixel.

Steps on how to put logo in the mod:

  1. Open the picture you chose with Paint, edit it to be a single color picture of 96*16 pixel, and save it in format of bmp.

  2. Download the file on our website, plug the mod in with USB cable, and double click the EleafUpdate.exe.

  3. Click “LOGO” and open the picture you saved, finally the custom logo is successfully put in the mod.

  4. Press the fire button twice in quick succession when the mod is powered on to enter logo on/off interface and press up or down button one time to turn on or off logo.

  5. When you turn on logo and the mod enters standby mode, the logo appears on the screen till the mod goes to sleep mode.

I watched a video on how to change the logo last evening and thought that looked pretty cool (the guy changed it to his name and a little image in the middle of it) so I might try that.

I hope this mod lives up to its hype because I bought two of them today to get a discount for July 4th at DV. I guess if it sucks I can return for credit but I hate doing that. I'm going to plan on loving them. :)

Nice! I was hoping they would come out with another upgrade for the TC120 to make it more like the PICO as far as switching from vw to Ti or SS... tthe way you have to do it now is my biggest complaint with the TC120 (or TC100, W/E you wanna call it) maybe I'll just end up getting a PICO. I tend to Vape right around 70-80 watts most of the time anyway, so I could deal with 75w

Wouldn't recommend single-battery mod if you vape at 70-80w. You'd need 25 amp minimum batteries, meaning low capacity, and pushing a single battery that high means that the runtime will be terrible.

My PICO came in yesterday and I have to say I really like it. It fits SO nicely in hand and the screen is easy to read and all my 22 mm or smaller tanks fit on it just fine. It's responsive and easy to work with. I haven't upgraded it yet. Here's a size comparison for anyone wondering about it next to say Cool Fires. I hope your upgrade for your TC120 comes in soon! :)

VTC5A batteries are true 25A and 2500Mah according to Mooch.

Sure, but pushing batteries to their limit isn't good for performance. I'd be surprised if they give anywhere near 2500 mAh when pushed at 25 amps.

I really don't think that's going to happen.

Sadly, and I really feel this was a huge mistake, the 100TC keeps the third "Mode" button from the 40TC and 60TC. Three or more seconds per step is workable with just three modes to cycle through, but when you've got six or seven... not so much. And no way to speed up the process. :(
It's not going to change.

Just prior to the Pico release the RX updated to include the ability to move both directions through the modes. With its other control schemes (TCR adjust, TC wattage adjust) it's the best evolution of JT's small screen model methods, IMO. And the Pico is a direct exact copy. Perfect.

Buttons on the bottom take a little getting used to though. :p

I like V1.0, 1.1 removes the vaping voltage number. maybe v1.2 will give the volts back. Could just be I'm new to VW/TC vaping. Still think of vaping in terms of battery safety, where ohm, volts and amps are more important than wattage. Maybe when I learn to trust the Mod for safety, I'll feel comfortable without knowing the volts being fed to the atty.

Sure you will.. The thing you have to remember is that 2500mah yeilds a smaller amount of TIME the higher the amp load is. 25amps drains a battery much fatser than does 5amps, regardless the battery. But both amperages will get the SAME MAH from a battery.

Oh they most certainly won't. The harder you push a battery the lower its capacity. If you use a 3500 mAh 10 amp battery at 10 amps the actual mAh you'll get out of it is less than a 20 amp 3000 mAh battery at 10 amps. Possibly less than a 20 amp 2500 mAh battery even.

All batteries are the same in that way. Push it at 25A and you'll yield shorter run times, but that's due more to battery sag than it using more mah from your battery. But to say it's not wise to push a 25A tested battery at 25A is not true at all. It was tested at 25A continuously until it went dead, it's perfectly safe and doesn't hurt anything at all. Feel free to run a 30A 1500mah all you want to feel safer, I'll run the rated 25A at 2500mah and swap batteries less.
