Well here's where I'm at so far....I'm going to drill hole the match the equipment. We'll see how it goes....I figure I'll paint them. I found these pieces in my shop....I'm not sure where they came from but as soon as I remember I'll let you know.

It would be nice if I could find some solid material like Cherry or Mahogany. These are Pine and they are joined so they would have to be painted.....If they were solid I would be able to stain them. This is the first go around....we'll see how they come out and then I'll start looking for better material.

Good material is a problem I had. I used a turners blank from Rockler that wasn't too expensive. A lot of that stuff is to expensive to drill full of holes. Good luck with your search.

I don't know how much effort you're willing to put into finding good wood, or if this is even possible anymore, but I knew a guy in the 1970s that would go around to farms, smallholdings, etc. and offer to dig out stumps for free. He was a little choosy, prefering oak, ash, cottonwood, and hickory, but if you had a few others, he'd take them too. On his last day in the area, he finally broke down and told me why he did it -- the 'knobby' parts of stumps have fantastic grains. He usually made more money selling a few fist-sized chunks to woodworkers/sculptors than the loggers made from the rest of the tree.

Do you know anyone with an old, knobby tree stump they'd let you steal?

Now we're talking turkey. I like the little 'black' guy. Am I bad for saying that?
I also like the flat wood block types too.
Who's making this stuff and where can I get it? (Aside from the little 'black' guy, that it.)
Thanks for that link, BTW.

I believe the creator of, My Caddy, isn't interested in making anymore, or so he's said.

I hope I haven't stepped on anybodies toes with this post...

Nah man, maybe it(the figure) could be called stereotyping, but its not racist. Either way, nobody should have acted the way they did about it. People needa respect the fact that you grew up on a time period where things like that were perfectly fine, my grandparents have little things like that, and i'd be mad if someone was attacking them over something like that.

But as far as the figure you're wanting goes, I work at salvation army and we get stuff like that in all the time(ok, not ALL the time, but more often than you'd think). Next time i see something close that will probably work, ill grab it, won't cost me more than a few bucks if even that. Ill send you a pic and if you like it, i'll modify it to hold a PV or two, i do a little bit of crafts kinda stuff like that in my spare time. If it looks satisfactory to ya, ill be happy to send it to ya for free.

I think I'm gone move the progress on my e- cig stands on a new thread. I'll let you know the new link soon. Too much controversy on this thread.

I was just going to suggest that. This is the "General E-Smoking Discussion" section, so the other issues need to be left out.

Post a link to it here when you start it?
