I hadn't registered until November, but i'd been vaping for about a year before I registered here. Always been on forums for my various hobbies over the years, and similarly was on a bunch of hookah forums before i took up vaping.

I think most of the "new" registers are lurkers that finally took the plunge and wanted to get involved. :p

I didn't lurk for long at all... saw this seemed to be the most comprehensive forum I had ran across, had already tried a blu disposable and knew I was ready to go in full time and had a lot of questions so I registered. Hanging out here before I made a decision on a pv and receiving it in the mail really kept me "plugged in" and focused on walking away from the cigs.

And then there's me, who only started vaping in August, but am a complete zealot and can't get off my soap box.

^^^This!^^^ I'm the same way--I started vaping at the beginning of September and lurked here until October, but am so enthusiastic about the whole thing that I just can't stop myself from recommending things to people all the time. But then, I'm a teacher, so I always think I know everything anyway...

I tend to post links to products I have and I'm very pleased with, or when I see a good deal (like on starter kits) from vendors I have bought from or are ECF suppliers with positive reviews by other members.

I have been quite fortunate that members have taken the time to help me understand how certain devices work and in PMs led me baby step by baby step to put them together.

I did some more thinking about this and will add that maybe there is a payoff of sorts promoting a vendor or saying where you got what works for you. Not in the form of direct compensation though. Many, including mine, are not the big nationally known ones but small brick and mortars with some not even having a place besides the net so, yeh, the more I help them out by telling the truth of my experience with them, the greater the chance they stay in business and they'll still be there for me. But it does help others and, of course, it can boomerang too. If they get too big they might raise their prices or have fewer sales. Guess ya can tell... I think too much.

I am an electrician by trade and I can tell you that I have learned from 1st term apprentices. the amount of experience you have does not mean that you can't learn from someone who is new. I also have a december join date although I have not posted any reviews does not mean that the people here think that my opinion is unimportant because I am a noob. I once joined a computer forum and lurked for a year and a half learning from other peoples successes and challenges along the way.Join date has nothing to do with knowledge or experience.

I think it's primarily lurkers - like me. Once you start reading this forum you realize how little you know about e-cigs and it sort of "forces" you into lurker-mode just by reading threads to find out about all the possibilities and different options before you can even construct a novel/insightful opinion or review. I'm still working my way towards doing just that... but enjoy learning more everyday.

And then there’s me.

I joined two years ago when I first found out about e-cigs. I didn’t have enough success with the products available at that time to stay with it. My bad.
I came back just to see if there was anything new and discovered that the technology has come a looong way from the aquarium tank filler days.Still working on putting together the perfect set up for me but there’s so much more to fiddle around with now.

So… according to the official record I’m an old-timer but I’m actually still quite green.

Don't knock the aquarium filter material, I still use it! I like to vape while leaning back reading a book. Stuffing the drip tip keeps the juice out of my mouth. ;)

LOL... I would say you think things through thoroughly. I want to know about the suppliers who honestly do go out of their way to help their customers. So I appreciate finding a forum like this where folks are willing to share the experiences they had with different suppliers.

I'm just now ready to make my own juice after realizing how easy it is!

I know what you mean about being excited. I smoked for 32 years and tried to quit at least 100 times, but nothing else ever worked. When I started vaping it wasn't even in an effort to quit, I just wanted to cut my smoking expenses a little.

I'm pretty new too, because I've only been at it for a couple of months, and I just started making DIY juice. It does seem easy, and I've made a couple of good juices, but you'd be surprised at just how easy it is to mess up a juice. Some of the flavorings are better, and some of them taste nothing like their names. Even with a few horrible batches I'm still spending less than buying all my juice premade, and I love my new hobby. :D
