LOL What can I say. I'm an old man stuck in my ways. :D

Actually I can't stand the looks of telescopic mods. I much prefer a very clean and compact mod design regardless of batt life. I don't mind popping those little 18350's in and out of my Provari every 3-4 hours. I have a Full sized 18650 Provari that is only used around the house cause I don't want to skeer people. :D

I mean look at this little thing! Doesn't it just make your mouth drool. :p

(Took out the picture)

Yup, I'm in deep dodo with the wife. Everytime I look at pics of this set-up I get one step closer to jumping on one.
Now that I have the KFL+ I'm half way there!

Heh a Paps is the one mod I really really want. It's only 8-9mm shorter than a 18490 Pisces, tho. Still... really want. Missed one re-stock due to poorly timed pizza delivery, another to forgotten site password (swear I had it right grrr). Have to be real quick to get those things.

I'm a Retired Genny user. I sucked at it ! I've been dripping for close to a year I think. Just last week I rebuilt my AGI with two SS wicking posts. My coil is attached to silica. The SS wicks feeds the juice on the silica.

that sounds interesting. care to share a pic?

It only takes me a few minutes...yes, I have to take it apart but that takes maybe 30 seconds. If I have juice in the tank, I take the top cap off and pour what's left back in the bottle.
Then I take the whole thing, along with the pv to the sink..
take the tank off,
take the chimney and chamber off (rinsing as I go)
then I slide the old wick out and give the coil a dry burn.
Then I take it off the pv and rinse it.
I've placed everything on a paper towel.. I gather it up and go back to my desk...
I tear off a strip of cotton.. roll it.. slide it through the coil.. trim the ends.. put the chamber on..
tuck the wick tails down into the chamber (making sure they are on top of the juice inlets)
I drip maybe 8 drops down in the chamber to get the wick saturated..
screw the chimney on...
screw the tank on..
cover the air hole.. pour juice in the tank.. start threading the top cap on.. as soon as it catches I turn it upside down and wait for the air bubble to rise... take my finger off the air hole and finish screwing the cap on. Done.

I do this every night because the juice I use gunks my coils up pretty fast and I like the flavor of a fresh cleaned coil. If I used a carto tank, I'd probably have to change cartos in the tank every day and that would be more of a hassle to me, especially price wise!

Doing this may be a big deal to some but it's not to me, especially since coils last a long time and cotton is practically free. The vape quality is worth it plus I can just throw it down on the bed or anywhere and not worry having to keep it upright. This is why it's worth it to me. You may not have to change your wick every day... you might do it once a week or maybe two weeks depending on your juice. I can tell when my coil starts to get gunky. I have a peach mix that doesn't gunk up and I don't have to change the coil near as often but I don't vape it near as much either.

You said you may sell a provari... one of the major reasons I switched to the kayfuns was, with a genesis, the vape wasn't good to me unless the coil was .8Ω and I had to use it on a mech. I wanted to be able to use my provaris. They kayfun works great on a provari. I still use it on a mech sometimes but now I can enjoy the regulated voltage of my provaris again.

Just out of curiosity I just rewicked and timed myself. I did all the steps I listed above starting with pouring out any leftover juice and ended with screwing on the top cap after filling. It took my exactly 5 minutes and 4 seconds :D

i was told specifically to NOT let the wick go into the juice inlets. would you say that that advice is structurally incorrect or that perhaps its a personal preference thing? heres what i was shown as a guide:

That was my understanding as well Kemo. I'm curious what others will reply back to you about this. I'm now reading about folks reaming out the channels to stick the wicks right down into them.
So I'm cornfused about the wick placement as well now. LOL

But I guess there are plenty of new ways to tweak these puppies if one is so inclined.

I believe it boils down to personal preference. I place my cotton in the same hole I'd place a mesh wick. Sometimes I take the air hole plug out and stick my cotton in there too- just depends on how I feel like setting it up at the time.

you don't want the wicks to go down into the channels but they need to be right on top of the inlets to sop up the juice as it's drawn up the channels.

Thanks. So would you say the above pic is set up nicely?

It looks good.. after you screw on the chamber and before you screw on the chimney... look down into the chamber and make sure the wick tails are on top of the little inlets where the juice comes up into the chamber. If the wick isn't there to soak up the juice.. it'll just go back down the channels instead of up to the coil.

Here is the quote from the kayfun lite thread #2627
guys, those channels puff up with juice when you draw, kind of like the squonking of a reo, if there is no wick right there to suck up this swelling up of juice by the little outlets then the juice will just be sucked back into the tank when you stop your draw and you will get NO feed, if wick is there, and juice is sucked up, then when you stop drawing it can't suck the same juice back in so it sucks air back in, if you're not getting a rising air bubble on just about every draw then you are not wicked properly, don't keep the wick away from the hole, keep it right there to suck up any swell up of juice from it. if you put way too much, THAN you could seal off these orifices well enough that the tank won't even see the suction, so don't over stuff it, but def wick right at the feed holes. after getting my full sized kayfun I now realize how much more room you have, the mini is easy t use too much wick and seal up the tank but the full sized kayfun and the light have huge wells, don't be afraid to get some wick right in there, it's the only way it'll feed, otherwise the same juice just goes in and out, in and out, and never feeds the coil

Haven't programmed a dynamic model of the air flow through a genesis but it may be safe to say air prefers the path of least resistance. Air may tend to flow upwards at roughly a 45 degree angle. My best genny build to date is a horizontal high coil which may be in the direct path of air flow. My inefficient genny build is a micro coil near the deck; it is likely below the air flow path. On future genny builds I plan different variations of the high coil.

The high coil genny build vape quality does approach the vape quality of my bottom air feed device. I've decided my gennys are not retiring just yet. They may not equal bottom air flow designs vape efficiency but they aren't far behind. I'm interested in the KFL but am a little OCD about the plastic tank threads. I suspect future designs will incorporate glass tanks.

I had retired my genesis atties until I discovered the goodness of a micro coil and cotton. the cotton reduces the chamber so I think it gives better flavor and there is now little to no leaking and my genesis are now portable and they are super easy to maintain

I'll never use mesh again. My dids are set up with vertical micro coils.. the cotton comes up out of the coil and I bring it down beside it and tuck the tail down in and around the wick hole.. pretty much sealing the hole. With it set up like that, I can lay it on it's side and it doesn't leak. I'm not ready to throw it in my purse and not worry about it (that's what the kayfuns are for) but it's much more portable and MUCH easier to set up and maintain. :D

My Gennies never leak...with cotton, silica or ss mesh. As long as you plug the fill hole and make sure the wick is a little smaller that the wick hole (so air can get into the chamber), your gennies will never leak.

Mine don't leak a drop either. Not a fan of wet 510 connectors like I've experienced w/ old dripper attys. Haven't really tested laying gennies sideways for extended times. I do pocket carry a screw top 18mm genny w/o issue.

Sorry for the stupid question but what mod is that? It's super small I want it?

Funny Story:
I was walking down a long alleyway with my Poldiac/KFL and JGG/Ithaka in a side pocket of a Tumi bag....as I get to the end of the alleyway I reach for the KFL and only see the Poldiac. The KFL was gone!!! I panicked! What if it was run over by a car??? I started walking back retracing my steps....and....There it was! On the pavement...all alone! Gray on gray!!! A few scratches and dings...err...
I picked it up, brushed off the dust using my t-shirt as usual and went on vaping....

Well, I've been using my KFL+ for almost a week now and I gotta say I'm very impressed. So much so that I caved in again and bought the Paps SS v2.5 to hold it up. :D

Broke the news to the wifey last night. It wasn't to bad, I was in and out of the ER in less than 2 hours and would have been out sooner but the police kept asking me if I wanted to file domestic violence charges.

I can say this about these Kayfun devices. I'm not walking away from my gennie's, but their top caps are definitely getting time to cool down now. ;)

My favorite AGA-T2 build to date. The top doesn't get hot like it used to.
