I try to convince a lot of people to make the switch, but there are still a lot of nay-sayers out there.

What are some really convincing arguments in favor of e-cigs over traditional cigarettes? We all know the lack of negative health side effects, but what about the health benefits of VG/PG inhalation?

I can not find the link at the moment but there is a whole thread about the health properties of PG as a germicidal agent.

Also there are studies being done showing the nicotine has some medical benefits as well.

When you get your 5 posts, wait and hour and then check the health Section.

I just hit my 5 posts, so I will definitely do that.

You need to come by the house soon, I got a lot of new flavors, and got some pure VG to play around with.

I will do so soon. Grats on the 5 posts, and glad I could help! Welcome to ECF btw Apoc

Most people cannot be convinced until they want to do something different. Just let people see you vape or tell them that you vape, and wait until they are interested. I have converted a few, and my husband has been going to the smoking area at work for 8 months to vape, and people have just recently started to seriously inquire about e-cigs.

LOL yeah we've known each other IRL for about 10 years now, very close friends.

I'm not looking to convert people who don't want to do it, but rather people who are on the fence.

My friends mom is all for e-cigs, but is vary wary of possible detrimental health effects that may be yet unknown to them. I want to show her they are safe.

I personally notice much improved breathing ability, and increased senses of smell and taste. I don't find myself nic-fitting as much as I used to either.

I started to get sick after catching something from my friends wife, and I just vaped like crazy and it was gone!

It seems that vaping is more controlled nic than smoking, but knowing how you vape I am sure the fact that your ego never leaves your hand helps too LOL <3

I've notice those benefits as well, just wanted to point out that after vaping over nine months, what other effects I was having or noticing.....also, for me, I've lost weight,,,,too many yummy juices out there that have zero calories.....why feed your face when you can get the same effect with vaping....lol
you did ask a legit question in your op,,doncha know....

My only arguement is that it worked for me after 50 years of analogs. One thing I've found is that many people, especially younger, invincable types don't want to quit cigarettes. It's the older folks, like the boomers who are starting to experience cumulative health problems that are the willing audience.

I agree with you Mohawk. I am finding it easier to convert baby boomers than people my own age. Which is odd considering the tech savvy of our younger generations. lol most boomer + seem to want to avoid technology

Kitty,,, vaping is not yet considered 'kool' for the younger group......too much hassle for them to be bothered.......When I was growing up, we had the 'marlboro man' and smoking anywhere and everywhere you went...it was considered the 'thing' to do......or you weren't hip if you did not smoke....stupid, I know, but consider the times.....

True there was a time when a DR would advise to smoke a menthol cig when you had a cold! Blegh! Plus look at the old Flintstone's Winston cig cartoon commercial. Amazing how time changes everything isn't it?

I'm part of the younger group : P When I first saw ecigs it was at a mall kiosk and I just rolled my eyes and figured it was another stupid gimmick put out by anti smoking nazis and/or people looking to rip me off (considering it was a mall kiosk, i was at least right about the rip off part : P ). It especially didn't help that the guy selling them asked me for a cigarette after showing me how the electronic one worked O.O I'm someone who gets very upset at all the crap smokers are expected to take, and to me, I felt like if I wanted to smoke, I was damn well going to have the real thing ! Had I not tried a PV and done my research, I would have still felt the same. I guess the best way to have converted someone like me would be to have them try a quality pv with a good juice in it and print out some stuff from the health section on this site to show them.

Here in Arizona we have a plethora of "Assisted living centers". It has been my intent for some time to showcase the merits of e-cigs to the administrators and hope they let me give a presentation to the occupants. I can see rivas with boge lr cartomizers catching on big time with that demographic. Especially is there is ample "Show and Tell", plus follow up support.

Are the residents allowed to smoke analogs there? But that sounds like a wonderful idea....if nothing else, it probably couldn't hurt them. :)

I should have clarified. Present to the occupants who are currently smoking analogs. My first target is the Veteran's assisted living center. Almost all lonely vets smoke, unfortunately. Also I thought targeting the 55 and over retirement communities could convert many over to the e-cig. In my experience, most older folks don't even know e-cigs exist and that there is an alternative to analogs. Almost to a person, every one of them want to quit cigs. I very rarely meet anyone over 55 who still actually enjoys smoking. They just accept it as their cross to bear.
