Tonight I turned my Aromamizer RDTA into a Roxymizer.

While it wasn't my prettiest build, being not only my first quad coil build, but also my first ever attempt at vertical coils, it actually performs very well. I did 2.4mm coils using 8 wraps of 28ga kanthal. I believe it clocked in around .39Ω. I had to break the tank down to clean it out, because I usually vape 12mg, but there was no way that was going to work with this build.

vaping 6mg Space Jam Starship at 50 Watts. Nice smooth, cloudy lung hits, but still flavorful MTL hits. Getting dizzy here.

Due to my poor coiling skills, I had so much trouble coiling the rdta. I finally manage to build a coil without the legs getting cut off. My first build isn't optimal and the coils are not align to the air flow. Definetly a cloud maker and flavor is dripper-like rich but is somewhat not in par to my billow v2. Feels like some tones are missing from the flavor which is probably due to coil not being in front of the air flow.

I'm using the Billow v2 drip tip as the default tip mutes the flavor as mentioned by others. I've also covered 2 holes with tape which greatly helps in enhancing the flavor.

I do hope that steam crave release the velocity-styled deck. It should help ease on the coil building.

You guys are making me want to try this quad coil stuff.

Do it. This atty wants it (trust me, I had a conversation with it).

It went like this:

Mr. Aromamizer: you put a lame, weenie build in me. I'm not like other attys. I'm disappointed.
Me: I think so, too. But, you might be too much atty for me. I don't want Claptons and 150W.
Mr. A: pfft! That's already been done! Come up with something else.
Me: I'll try. I need to think about it.

Then the Roxymizer was born.

Yes, I need to get out more.

Just hit this build at 100 Watts (the most I have a capability of) just to say that I did. Wicking kept up no problem with back to back lung hits. Amazing really.

Now that I've done it, 50-60 Watts seems to be more my speed for quick lung hits, which this tank is slowly making me a fan of.

Were you able to draw for more than 2 seconds though at 100W? I couldn't, and think I don't understand the technique. I only tried a few times and went back to 50-55W.

I also only have 100Ws to play with so couldn't find out the limits of this build. Also I did 9 wraps of 27g for each coil. Not sure if the slightly thicker wire could push more watts or less?

I would guess they were about 3-4 second draws. It is not my style vaping. (yet?) I would assume your build would handle a bit more wattage.

I am back at 50-60 Watts myself. :)

Those quad coils are lookin' good! I could not get them to fire properly. By the time I got all four in, I had hot legs, and hotspots all over the place. Any tips?

After much frustration I tried a Ni80 build: Dual Strand 28g twisted, 8 wraps 2.5mm ID @ .35Ω wicked with rayon. Seems to be working very well. It heats up quickly, produces killer flavor and warm, dense vapor.

I also should've put on a more open drip tip. I forgot, oops! At 50W I can take a pretty long lung hit, which I like. Not as long as my single coil attys, but on par with my duals. I wasn't keen on the 2 second draw at 100W. I was also thinking, ha ha, I might only need 3 hits per hour with that. It would save me on juice.

Did you take any pics of it? The only time I had a hot leg my lead had gotten bent through rewicks (Magma) and was touching a post. I was sure I would have at least one goofed up coil on this quad vertical build with such a small space to work with and my middle aged eyes, but didn't. I was quite delighted when it all lit up perfectly.

Unfortunately I did not. I spent an hour or so trying with three sets of coils. I've got a 3ml version coming so I have a second one to experiment with. I like this tank way too much to mess with a build that works perfectly.

I understand. I bought 2 bases. So my first build (working fine) was in it while I built the verticals on my second base. It was a little more difficult to build on that base without it being screwed into the 510 base, but I managed. However, I couldn't test the build til I worked up the courage to pull my old one out to put the new one in the 510 base :). I still have my first build on the other deck. Now that I know the verticals work and I like it best, I'll be pulling my first build out, and putting another vertical build in that so its ready when recoiling time comes.

Well the day has come when I have to either swap out my gunky quads, clean them and re-wick, or put in a new build style. Has anyone tried twisted or claptons yet? Sorry in advance if I missed it on the previous posts. I try to avoid this group cuz you folks come up with intriguing builds like the Roxymizer...

I've cleaned and rewicked. It took a little longer to do 4 wicks, but not much. I have a Gus Estia though so I'm used to doing 3. 4 wasn't much different.

I must be spoiled by doing my quads on a 454. At least with that atty I didn't have to do both left and right handed coils.
I'm doing the triple 28g now thanks to @V43L1N

Hope you enjoy your new build :)

I think I wrapped all 4 of my coils lefthanded. I always do unless I can't (2 post with one post raised).
