Cut it off? Is there something you don't like about the spit blocker?
Yeah, the flavor seems muted when using them. I thought about digging out the dremel and doing something fancy, leaving it partially there and taking off only some of the base... but then I decided I was too lazy and just wanted to vape! ;)

Wicked with Rayon. Max power 125w. Power for best flavor with my DIY Great Dane NET is 90w, up about 5w from ... Cotton. Rayon is rock'n my flavor world.

Am I doing something wrong? I keep getting dry hits. I didn't put more cotton than I usually would. I'm using normal cotton and I push the tails in the well like a normal dripper, covering the holes. I don't think I'm using too much cotton? 24g Kanthal, 6 wraps, about .25 ohms and it's wicking forsure cause I can see the bubbles.

Under wicked in the coil I'm guessing. How many watts are you vaping at @Scott the Vaper ? Do your airholes line up with the coils?

This may be a good time for me to chime in on 'how much is enough'.

I do verticals with KGD.

Started with 'bout a 1/4", then successively, 3/8", 1/2", to 3/4" now. Am thinking of going to a full inch out the bottom line of the vertical, tail fanned. Each has wicked well. Clouds & flavor a plenty.

Going to the inch next build [black arriving tomorrow] to see if that stops the leaking...

(Get outta my way cigatron. I see you. [emoji12])

Japanese cotton, and it seems like I'm putting alot/enough. No real wiggle room. Won't let me upload a picture cause files too big.

When using Koh Gen Do ... cotton I use a 3/16" wide strip, skins on, in my 2.78mm coils. Roll the cotton down into a snake and pull from both ends to narrow it while sliding it into the coil. Once you release the wick tension grab one end and wiggle it , the other end shouldn't move.

When trying to upload a picture, it only let's me use my camera, but what I do is take a strip of cotton, from a pad, idk the margins, and twist it in, fluff it out, and take scissors and place it vertical against the bottom and cut so that the cotton doesn't go past the wall of the part that screws into the tank, then I shove both ends in with my tweezers and then prime and put it in.

Twisting the wick isn't the best technique. See my previous post.

I'm using a standard macro coil, can you show me a pic with how much cotton you cut before placing it in? I have no measuring tools.

Standard macrocoil...hmmm. do you know what the inside diameter is? If not you're stuck with trial and error. Just enough cotton in the coil where it won't move on one side while wiggling the other.
3/16" is about the width of a #2 pencil.
