Do you prefer 24 gauge just for the short ramp up times? That'd be my one complaint with higher mass coils is that they take a bit to get going. The flavor is so good off the claptons though I just can't go back.

24g 6 or 7 wrap dual coils of 2.75-3mm dia. just seem to get'r done for me I guess. They seem to heat quick enough at the 40w per coil minimum power level required for good flavor and at 45w per coil the flavor is very close to the best claptons or twisted builds I've done but the latter seem to be power hogs. I guess its just a really good balance between surface area, heat capacity and heat flux in rdas and the Aromamizer that keeps me building with 24g KA1 or Ti. Speaking of Ti, it fires even faster than KA1 due its lesser mass (heat capacity) and it's a great wire gauge for single tc coils in rtas eg. STmini, Crown etc.

Clean, dried, and ready to go!!

I got my black Aromamizer today from VapeNW and verified that it is indeed authentic.

If anyone is interested, Eciggity has both black and silver on sale and in stock for $34.99. Add the code "holiday20" to your order and that will get you an additional 20% off while supplies last bringing the total to $27.99 which is a pretty good deal valid 12/14/15 thru 12/17/15. Currently I only see the 6ml version listed on their site and shipping is extra.

I have a Aromamizer ordered, should be here soon. I almost didn't order it because of that ugly rubber band, it just ruins the look of the device. But I decided that it would be easy to make a snap on ss band that would match the atty. When it's finished I'll post some pics.

I am surprised Steam Crave hasn't produced a metal add on band yet.

Thank you @roxynoodle !!

I bought the Aromamizer a couple of days ago. Built my standard dual coil 0.6ohms, and it was an insipid vape.

I read this thread and copied your Quad Vertical (my first vertical coil and my first quad coil), and man this thing vapes!

Built it 9wraps, 2.5mm ID, 28g Kanthal, 0.43ohms, Quad coil.

Found my sweet spot at 52.5Watts, an it' kicking out vapour.

I'm either going to have to mix something less than my standard 12mg juice or use this setup sparingly :)

Im down to 18mg on the Aromamizer and it feels perfect there for me. That Quad coil looks crazy complicated but im sure its not as hard as it looks once you get the hang of it.

Just running a real basic dual horizontal coil 7 wraps each of 24G Kanthal, 3mm ID, comes out to 0.28 Ohms and it really is vaping smooth great flavor as well with Rayon.

I still havent addressed the airhole misalignment issue though. What type of sandpaper is needed to sand the deck down? A very fine sandpaper im guessing? Also how much do I sand it? Do I just sand a bit and then check to see how the deck screws back on and if needed sand more until the airholes line up properly?...

Thanks

I received my black Aromamizer and I am shocked by how much higher the quality is now. My older one is #3645 and this black one is #65064 and the machining is so much better, the orings are higher quality, it's just nicer all around. My original had machining issues in the chimney. Also this is my first time with the velocity deck. I definitely have to get used to it, and buy some ceramic tipped tweezers. I threw a 6 wrap dual Clapton build in with 2.5mm ID, wicked her up and the airflow was much less than my 3 post deck build. I'm going to give verticals a shot here soon, hopefully that'll fix the airflow. Also my airhole alignment was just how I like it, a coil between 2 holes.

I want to validate every detail you posted.

I had two before this black arrived yesterday, or Monday. It is as though a different manufacturer produced this one. Serial 55,000+

I have an aromamizer on its way and would also like to receive details on the sanding "fix".
Thanks for the very informative thread. I've got a pretty good idea what to expect now when I do receive it.

Sent from my SM-N910W8

Posting this here for everyone who may be interested in sanding their Aromamizer to align the airholes any which way they prefer.

Pics won't help much so I'll try to lay it all out here.

You will be sanding a TINY bit of material off of the bottom of the tank base so that when it's tightened onto the 510 base the airholes will be located further clockwise than before. Further clockwise when looking from the top of the tank to be exact.

Step 1. Place a piece of 320grit or finer sandpaper face up on a flat surface like a table top or counter top.

Step 2. Remove the tank from the 510 base and place it right-side-up on the sandpaper. You will sanding the bottom metal piece of the tank.

Step3. While firmly holding the tank with the base flat on the sandpaper rub it on the sandpaper once or twice only. You only have to remove a TINY bit of material to see a noticeable difference in airhole location.

Step 4. Wipe the metal dust off the bottom of the tank and screw the tank back onto the 510 base to check airhole alignment.

Step 5. If the airholes have not rotated around far enough repeat steps 3 and 4.

If you sand too much off so that the airholes rotated around too far just sand some more off until the next airholes line up.

Hope I explained good enough. Good luck.

60W may not be enough on the SX M Class.

On the dual battery VF SX I get the slashed line, indicating too much batt sag, on wattage I normally use for my 200's. Can Vape as low as 40W on the 200's but get a "whimpy" vape on SX's. (Not a swipe, just the facts.)

Congrats on your purchases!

Valid point

Its a bit lame at first even using the powerful+ but I don't want to run it any higher on a single battery

Vapes fine after a few hits but know it needs more W

RX200 on its way and likely get a VT200 V2 for xmas even though I told her I don't buy Evolv products

But its her money and if it fails I wont be kicking myself
