Pulled the trigger on the Snow Wolf 200W TC mod today. Then I decided I'd better buy some new batteries for it, so I hopped over to RTD vapors for 4 shiny new VTC4s (good buy today, BTW, if anybody needs batteries, $29 for 4, including two 2-batt storage cases). Then I figured it was about time to upgrade my old Efest SODA charger, since I wanted to marry the pairs for the new mod and needed to charge them evenly, so I zipped by eBay for xtar VC4 (another 30 bucks, but this once came with the Xtar 120V wall wart and the car plug). Then I figured, since I bought a TC mod, it wouldn't be all that long before I was itching to try out the temp function, for which I'd require some nickel wire, so back to eBay for some Lightning Vapes tempered nickel wire in 28 and 32. All told, I doubt they stuck me for more than $200 I can't afford

Sounds just like my recent purchases.......lol. Got a Snow Wolf 200w. Absolutely love this mod. The TC works great!!! Got 4 vtc4's and an xtar vc4 charger from RTD as well. Nice choices!

I was leery at first, honestly. TC is an excellent idea and if it works it'll save a lot of maintenance. Once you figure out what temp which juice likes, you can change tanks, push a few buttons and be perfectly dialed in every time. But I was worried about the whole TC thing being not quite ready for prime time. The chipsets are still in their infancy, and they're working out the bugs, as anybody who reads the TC threads can see. But the reviews on the Snow Wolf were excellent. I haven't seen anybody who has one who doesn't like it. And the price has come down too; I bought mine for a Franklin, flat. Heck, that's only 20 bucks more than a Siggie or Smok or whatever, and I wanted a high-wattage box mod anyway, just to try it. I like to think of myself as a modder, and I wanted to try some hi-watt regulated vape before I start buying boards and spending the time to hand carve a seriously nice one. So I figured WTH, even if the TC doesn't work perfectly, or I don't like it for whatever reason, I'll still get the hi-watt mod which I want anyway. And the reviews are glowing, saying it's the best implemented TC yet. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

You will like it. I have built a few 28ga nickel spaced coils. It is definitely softer then kanthal but have not messed one up yet. It is pretty cool to have a steady temp vape. Didn't take long for me to be sold.

I like the looks of the new Sigeli 75w coming out. May be a new carry mod for temp control. The snow wolf is my at home mod.

What are you spacing your coils on? Machine screw? What size? I ordered the Lightning Vapes *Tempered* Ni200 as it's supposed to be a skosh stiffer; easier to coil and wick.

And another reason I went with the 200W Snow Wolf is I am not yet sure just exactly what wattage I want to vape for non temp control. I haven't gone any higher than the 45W or so I feel I can get our of a 20A battery and a clone mechanical mod. I'm seriously considering buying a Council of Vapor Royal Hunter or even an Arris Pro to give dripping a fair trial once I have a more powerful mod. Not a Tugboat, perhaps, but not out of my price range and looks like it was built by somebody who knows what they're doing. I have a dinky little Patriot, but I don't like it much. It's an el cheap-o for one thing. And I don't think it breathes well enough for serious clouds.

I just wrap on a 3mm screwdriver. I space the coils pretty far apart while wrapping. Then push them together and let them spring back. Works every time. Been using 28ga temco ni200.

I do drip, but mainly use RTAs. I have a few clones. The steamboat v2 and velocity rda are my favorites.

Thanks for the hints. I'm sure I'll work it out, but it's nice to get a steer in the right direction
