DC Catos are perfectly fine to use as long as you are using them with either the correct set of electronics, or the proper battey/mod configuration. It's people that want to stretch there luck pushing certain units and wrong configurations and wrong Batt's that have issues. Just my 2c
Same goes with stacking Batts,,,, certain protected electronics are just fine to use with stacking Batts, like Buzz's units, the Darwin, and some others too. But it is best if we ddnt have to use stacked Batts too.

I've watched this thread from time to time since inception -- and finally decided to post.
Really nice that Bert is getting more glass artists involved. This will mean even more fun and interesting tips being developed.
My first tip was a glass one, nothing fancy, but still quite nice to use. Now I have managed to find the time and persistence and have snagged a couple of trippies. Nice.

MWA - I agree .... I think for the average person like me, the safer the better. I don't want to pop stuff on a meter all the time, stack batts to get 6v, worry about frying a MOSFET, or try for "hotter is better".
I just want a simple PV with a reasonable carto ....

Well, keep listening, and reading. Burt recently had a late night/early morning sale for the folks on the other side of the water to get some, and a while ago had mid-afternoon for those who worked nights. It does happen.
Welcome! Have you gone through and seen any particular shape/color combos that you really like? Which ones?
Welcome Tearose and micdew!!! Tearose I love your avatar! mcdew never say never, there are some sales in the earlier parts of the day. My first tip came from a holiday sale and it happened earlier that some of the latest sales.

Purple will always be number one for me. I use to sell American hand poured art glass and these are all up my alley.
I also like the blues tapered is my first pick then the wide mouth flat. They are ALL great.
It's not impossible and some times you can catch one or two for sale in the classifieds, if that's of interest to you.... But if you want directly from a sale, I have seen some sells take place much earlier and some times Bert has his wife do a few things as she works different hours then him, which permits her to throw them up earlier in the day (throw them up! That don't sound right loll)

I haven't done mine yet either... I can't even remember where I put my w2 at this moment LOL This is actually the longest I've ever waited to file, I'm usually filed by the 1st of Feb with my return spent by now.
