She doesn't even bark, we have never heard her bark. When she is with the children if a strange person or dog comes near a child she stand in front of them, I call this her passive agressive move.
I am trying to do a much as I can while I am able. I am just not the sort of person who enjoys sitting doing nothing.
The live in drug rehap programme is such a great success story and I love doing the overnight shifts. i am only called in when someone is sick so it's not all the time.
Coralie, I'm glad to hear things are getting back to normal, sorta. If Porsche is anything like Ringo was, she'll act like an attack dog until they get close, then try to lick them to death.

Ringo, my Iggie, wasn't supposed to be a barker. Unfortunately, he spent too much time as a puppy with my mother's Yorkie. Of course, it didn't help matters that he thought he was a big dog; his 2 best buds when I lived in the Quarter was a Great Dane and a Rottweiler, lol.

I've considered min pins, pugs and whippets too. I'm having a hard time deciding. Once I actually stop just looking at the pictures on the rescue sites and go see them in person I'm sure I'll decide. I love the look of a whippet and the min pin. I'm just concerned about how fragile their legs are and I've only seen one whippet on the rescue site in my state and she went to a new home quick. The min pins all seem to be mixed which might help with the fragile legs.
I'm sure I'll find the one that's meant to come home with me, all in good time. One thing for sure I'll research this to death before I even go to meet my future friend.

Will they heard kids? Hehe, I think I'll need a herder once my niece gets to walking. Got a feeling she's gonna be a handful.

In all seriousness, I will need a puppy/dog with a good temperment and good with small kids.

AWww! Puppies are wonderful and if you have time training can be fun :) I was lucky that I was unemployed when I got my doggie girl with plenty of time to watch her every step and correct her quickly.

Go for already potty trained  I'm still fighting my 2. They do fine if I never leave the house. But any time I do leave, I think they try to retaliate for that time I left them by trying to pee on my couch 2 minutes after we've just done the go out & potty thing :glare:

OHHHhhhhh, dear DEvD -- I think they're just excited to see you

Porsche is not a small Whippet and her legs are really strong. Lots of vitamins when she was little and still growing. This is a picture of Porsche the day I came home from Hospital. ralfiespics 012.jpg
