Nope, no success here, yet . . . not for lack of trying
Drilling can be difficult. Since it's a round surface, you'd ideally want to use a drill press rather than a hand drill (though a milling machine with a custom jig would be even better IMHO).
Two points of advice:
1 - be careful how deep you go with the drill bit. If you hit the filler, it can wrap around the end of the bit and start pulling fluff right outta the carto
2 - Since it's a round surface, you'll want to punch a little dimple in the tube, first. This will help keep your drill bit in place and prevent it from walking off the side of the tube on you. Just a light hit with a center punch, nail or carto punch tool should do the trick without warping the tube on you
In most cases without a custom-made jig to hold everything in place, it works out to be faster and easier to just punch it via normal methods than to drill it

Just a quick pop in to catch up. Home from bowling a little earlier than usual tonight. Bowled a 172 in my last string, not my all-time best, but the best I've done in a long time and pretty good considering how out of practice I was going into this league (107 average over the first six weeks
). Just getting into the swing of it and there's only one more week to go for this league

I've watched those video's and will probably watch em several more times before my parts get to me, lol. I wanta get this right the first time for my first ever build.

Hey, can't hurt to try. Everybody has their preferred methods and are naturally better at one way over another, so even if it's just an experiment for the heck of it . . . who knows? It might just work out for you
Then again I'm weird like that and just like to try different things for the sheer curiosity factor ;-)
I need help gus, I have a new set up and I am using ce4 on it. Is there a Trippy tip that fit these as I am finding hard to go back to plastic tip.
Any help would be appreciated.

Be careful - the filling can easily twist around with the bit...
Havent tried that damselle but I don't see why it wouldn't work -- I'd just say be careful not to go past a certain point so as not to damage the center tube of the carto

I love bowling. I used to bowl on leagues and went to many tournaments. Been several years now. I wish I had never stopped. My last average was a 189, I don't think I'd even get close to that now.

DW hun i think i saw an adapter once that turned a 510 tip into that tip but im not 100% sure on that. The only other thing i can think of is talk to Freddy dave or burt about a custom? Sorry i couldnt be more help.

hi all, food looks great. our big cub scout group had a big dinner tonight. they catered in a bunch of smoked meats and then all brought a large side. brought a bunch home with plenty of cookies, cupcakes and pie
Google "CE4 510 adapter" (the 3 words), you'll find some well-known ECF suppliers carry them, $2.99 at one site I took a quick look at.
