That could be true for that store. Hope it is not for all of them.
I have done animal rescue work it can be so rewarding but can bring your world crashing down in a hurry.
I'm back! That damn Petsmart -- they don't care about animals at all -- just having a good adoption quota. I got there to be told, "We already cleaned." Yeah, right. Litter boxes with at least two days of poop, nasty drinking water where they just topped it off rather than dump it, wipe out the bowl, and refill with clean. Dirty bedding, dirty everything! They burn me up. I wish our rescue wouldn't show animals there anymore....

I think it would be great if you guys had an info page on the site giving example photos of each category. I would love to see each type. I'm clueless of all the different names. I just like what I like.
I've said it befor and I'll say it again...I'm amazed at the amazing amt of various talented people on this thread!

I'm even glader that I rescued Ben the Dog from our PetSmart in this area if that's how they treat these guys.

I went in there looking to adopt another cat one Saturday. Ben was sitting in his cage looking so sad and surrounded by kitties in their cages. First thing I asked them was if he got along with cats and they told me yes. What they failed to tell me was only if they stayed away from his water and food but that is another story. I literally left there 3 times and kept going back to see him. The last time I had even gotten on the freeway to head home, got off at the next exit and circled back to PetSmart - he adopted me. He was found in a box along side of a road abandoned. They told me they had named him Odi but he didn't look like an Odi to me and he didn't respond to it either. "Ben" for some reason came out of my mouth after I got him home and he responded so he even picked his own name. :D When I first had him, his ears were both straight up. After a couple of months, I got up one morning he had one up and one down and so they stayed. Every so often he has them both down for a short time.

Sending you both hugs and love.
Putting her down really wasn't a choice. She was going so fast that she wouldn't have made it through the morning on her own, so we might as well have stopped her pain as soon as we could. I just wish I wasn't stuck at work. I know mom isn't doing well right now. That's the part that hurts me. I wasn't close to the dog. She was sweet and I am a little sad at her passing, but knowing the pain mom must feel right now is what makes me want to curl up in the fetal position in the bathroom.

Well, I have to check with one of my peers first. Steve Kennedy is the one that showed me his! boro witches ball and I feel in love, traded him for one and ended up "reverse engineering" it two years later. It wasn't easy to, either! I honor other peoples ideas enough to ask first if I can honor it by making it :D He also holds over 10 patents for his humming bird feeders. Steve's awesome!

might have met him at some point? It's a bit of of a drive for me....that's cool!

I went, as my nephew did, to Western Carolina University. I've made the drive to Asheville more times than I can count. Over the last 20 years Asheville has grown into quite an eclectic town... the micro-brewery scene is one of the best in the country.

You probably have met him at some point, and if not, know the same people he does. Small world.

Sometimes the only choice is to be compassionate. I bred toy poodles... I have had my share of losses. They are our companions, our best friends, the ones we lean on. We think we are taking care of them when, in fact, it is quite the contrary. They take care of us! I have lost them at birth and I have lost Them as adults. I have been there for their last breath taken and cried more tears than I could count. Including this moment.

Your mom wouldn't want her beloved girl to suffer. You helped your mom more than you know. Hugs{{}}

Morning Tripsters .... going to my folks' place so just a quick pop in.

Thank you again Bert, Freddy and Matt for the great tips. There was site chaos, but it isn't anything we can't overcome. :)
I think the phone # thing made a bit "LGB" (little German boy) but just for a minute or 2. :)
I think I typed a "WTF" .... sorry.

Hang in there, Amber. You did the right thing. It's too cruel to let them suffer because we need them. It'll hurt for a while, but it will get better.

On an unrelated note, it's good that I don't have to go anywhere. My street's flooded at the moment!

Considering that our pumps can handle an inch an hour should tell you much rain we just had. And that's after it's already draining. That line of leaves is the "high-water" mark. It felt like we were in a tropical storm!

you potty mouth you!!! :grr:

yeah, the phone number at the end thing brought out the German boy in me a bit... especially considering I made it all the way through paypal... had it been the old system, I would have won my tips...

after paypay then the phone number page came up and I was like... WTF is this?! (I'm sure I said those exact words )

sat there like a dumb .... looking at the page for a few minutes in confusion. think I pressed "update" and waited for the circle to be done... it didn't stop... of course by the time I realized what was going on, tips gone. :(

no matter, I'm happy for all the people that won last night, hopefully Matt makes some more honeys before he leaves(or is he staying... that would be awesome:D).

:)

oh, good morning Trippyville.
