cool Bert, have fun today.

My fingers are doing better than say, 5 days ago...fortunately, I didn't fall through all the way =/ and I had some support there, waiting for just an accident like that to happen. No big deal, but! I will be outsourcing "building" a little more from now on.

Custom? bring it ON!

I also wanted to share a story from last night. I am working on a very complex TrippyTip for Seraphina, and have many hours invested in it. It is going to be a donut with a hummingbird sculpture attached to the outside. Since the hummingbird is a fragile creature and even more delicate as a glass sculpture there will be a clear bubble of glass around it to protect it from harm's way.

It is never easy to do something new, and beat your own path through life, but when all is said and done I believe it will be worth it to be able to say that I have created something beautiful that nobody else has ever done. Last night I was finishing Sera's piece, and it was beautiful. I really poured my heart and soul into the creation of very small details and was very excited to share it with you all. As I attached the bubble long story short the piece went south and ended up having to swim in a bucket of water. I was literally heart broken.

At first I felt like I had bitten off more than I could chew, and was really regretting this whole custom ordering idea, but then I felt inspired from the destruction. I came out of the whole experience motivated to make an even more beautiful version of the TrippyTip. The way I see it is that now I know what worked, and I also have the knowledge of what not to do.

The reason I wanted to share this with you all is because of how I believe this relates to all things in life. Please do as Freddy says, and make today beautiful for yourself. I could have still been angry at the whole experience and having a bad day, week, month, year, or life if I held on to the emotions attached to the moments of destruction involved with glassblowing. Instead of doing this when something goes wrong I have learned to turn it around, make life beautiful, and look at it as an opportunity to do things better next time.

Sorry to get all philosophical on you! Just wanted to share.

You are in my head............I have a load of sad in my life, everyday and all day.Every morning as I awake,I walk the teeny bladder dogs, smell the morning air, and the roses and I CHOOSE JOY. Living happily and "having a good day" are all choices. I choose to be silly, ECCENTRIC,happy and joyful. Your attitude shows in your art as you turn an error into a learning experience and that learning is evident in your work. I am happy you got philosophical on us today. Nice to know someone else feels like I do. Joy is a choice.

Have a great day Trippyville........choose to!

Bert, I am so sorry that your hummingbird creation met with peril. I wonder who gets the PITA award between me and Sera. The opal piercing looks amazing. Thank you so much for your amazing talent and effort.

Oh Bert, thank you so much for all your hard work and I'm sorry it didn't go well. ;-( My cute little hummingbird... If its too complicated, rediculous, or frustrating, I can come up with something else...Just a regular Trippy like one of the four I sent you pictures of I would be more than happy with...I don't want you spending too much time on it...

Again, thanks so much and sorry for all the frustration...

LOL -- I thought the same thing Sashwa... nice and stiff -- snort!

You know how I said I had things I needed to do? I didn't do crap! Instead I loaded my stuff up and a few of us girls went to the beach for the day! Went out to lunch after and had the most delicious soft tacos: swordfish and spinach with mango salsa and braised brisket with melted brie and grape salsa. Absolutely a treat to end my summer! Hope everyone has had a great friday and is geared up for the weekend!

Bert, what you said is wonderful! I love it :)

Hi everyone!! Just a quick run through.. hanging out with my bff's kids this weekend :)

I saw one of those in the "pics of your setup" thread! Kinda cool :)

Me want skull trippy
Pietro - I know De was wanting a skull Trippy also ....
Pretty sure I'm working on that :D

oh.....i know. Sometime I just feel like I pop into y'alls ongoing conversations with my "own" frame of thought...actually, I'm kinda known for doing that in person as well, finally getting old enough were "eccentric" is an appropriate label :D

I love when you pop in with your own frame of thought :)
And really, most of our conversations start with someone asking a random question or sharing a random thought or happening lol.

I just wanted you to know I have copied this and emailed it to myself to hang on my computer at school. Things can get rough and tough at times and it will help me greatly to have this to read and catch a breath when I need to. Thanks Bert.

That was a beautiful hummingbird and I'm sorry it didn't make it. You are very wise for your young years to have taken the attitude that you have. ((((((((( Bert ))))))))
