just researching broken thumbs :/, my son fell on his bike last night i thought he had just jammed his finger but it was a little more swollen and bruised than i would expect a jammed thumb to be this morning ,plus he said it still hurt, which isn't like him at all. though he insisted on going to school so, i think we are going to the doctor after school if it still looks bad
though i'm wondering what they can actually do for a broken thumb? do they tape it to the others like when you break other fingers ?

It depends where it broke. Farther into the hand it may get set and casted. other than that the standard is a basic splint, foam and metal wrapped in med tape.

I'm glad its not broken! :) At least he's only got to deal with the splint for a few days. In my experience those things are more annoying than the broken finger lol

man they do want to make sure that thing is protected, that's a long splint.

I had the weirdest 1/2 cast 1/2 splint that went past my elbow once because of how I fractured my wrist... I guess the bones aren't supposed to twist over the top of each other right at the wrist... I had never seen a cast like it before, had to deal with the waiting for it to dry after it was formed and all that, but it was made of one really long piece that folded in half to sandwich around my arm and went all the way past my elbow to keep me from straightening my arm, then was held in place with a 1/2 mile of ace bandage LOL that thing sucked.

.............that said...i wonder if you can deep fry hamburgers?? maybe put a batter on them and drop em down. i shall try this weekend
Mike, it can be done, my curiosity has gotten the better of me in this regard, but it's greasy as hell . . . well, "greasy" is really an understatement  You've been warned ;-) The trick is getting the patty to hold together during the frying. Either do it in a fry pan with shallow oil (maybe a half inch or so) or mix an egg in with the beef like you would prepping meatballs or meatloaf. Batter would probably work, too.

There used to be a redneck dive just over the border in VT that had deep fried versions of both pickles and Oreos as regular menu items, and they'd fry just about anything else if you asked the right person. I was kind of afraid of the food there, though. Never even would have set foot in the place if my little bro hadn't played with the house band for a while

I invented this color for Maleko's custom...his is going to be a donut!

Tuckered out and super happy. She was a trooper today. Not one melt down. Loved it and caught on real quick to the whole thing. Lines were short and the weather perfect. My mini Provari with a Penelope in my holster worked perfectly too. Someone with a v-max and a stardust admired mu setup and I sent them to ecf. They should be here soon.
