IDK if I am too late for input into your "Beauty" discussion. As usual, I am always 10 pages behind but this is my take on beauty
We try to capture that which we find beautiful in photographs, art, music, sculpture and other mediums to preserve what one finds as beauty.True beauty IMHO is neither tanagible or intangible. One may see a rose in the garden with the sunlight and a drop of dew and say "That is beautiful" another may see a person helping the poor in Haiti and say "That is beautiful." IMO, it is not the rose or the helper that is beautiful. It is the moment of time when a spiritual silence falls upon a human and causes a moment of pause and stops the whirlwind of life, heartache, bills, rules, troubles and worries. It is the void of everything except pure joy. It is the tear in a Mothers eye, a cool breeze at the ocean, the stillness of the woods, the grandeur of a mountain view, a trickling stream, a bumble bee collecting his nectar. All of these and more may cause a human to stop, become silent and just BE. It is in those silent moments that we become one with our world and are at peace. Beauty is not a thing, it is the inspiration to pause a little longer, be quiet a little while more than usual and to be still with your soul. Not every thing of "commercialized beauty" ie: supermodels, great artistic works, "People magazines "Man of the year" of Sports illstrated "Swimsuit model cover" will cause this pause in the soul. Each human has a different paradigm of what will emote those feelings. But of this I am sure..........Beauty causes silence and pause and resets our lives to a higher level of oneness with our inner souls.
