I almost for got my manners...Good Afternoon Trippyville!

Pietro, Waaaassssuuuuuupppppp! I'm keeping it true and waiting to start downing some Brew. Last day of indulgence before the Wife and I set out on a huge weight loss effort. I'm shooting for an initial 40lbs. with 60lbs. being my ultimate goal. Been needing to do this for a very long time and now have gotten things settled enough to focus on my health. I really wanted to get smoking over and done with before I started to take away another of my crutches. I want to go into my 60s no heavier than 160-180 but with some muscle mass. This is going to really suck but then it is really exciting too. We went at this a couple of years ago right after I started vaping doing the South Beach diet and I dropped 30 in 3 months. However the food they had us eating wasn't realistic in the real world and the Mrs. gave up for that very reason half way through my effort. This time it's all about calories, exercise, changing portion sizes and offsetting carbs with protein. If my wife is on-board I know we'll succeed.

I watched the SURFACE video and am now very enamored with the Surface and the mechanics of the A7. The 901 side air hole is the one thing I really DISLIKE about the ERA and Hornet. Just too messy at times for out and about in a jacket pocket. Although going back to my first mod, the TW screwdriver MKII and a 901 versus the 510. The flavor was always better on that old 901.

Good luck with the weight loss project buddy I need to shed a few pounds myself like at least 20-25lbs and have been plotting and planning to for awhile now :blink:

I'm really loving this Surface for several reasons My Reo Mini's sporting Boge cartos for ease of use and simplicity get the most use since they're all i use out n about and the Surface is pretty much a RBA carto except no filler material, same draw, no leakage no matter how much I flood it, the coil sits well above the atty floor and juice is shot right to the coil every sqounk:)
Love my ERA's but yes just like you when I flood it the juice comes right out the airhole:( but I don't think I will be replacing my ERA's with the Surface but I can see them being a permenant fixture on mine Mini's only wish I would have ordered 2 of them since they were about $15+ cheaper on the preorder:D

Hi Sweet D:wub: Did you ever get your carto problems figured out?

Hi Sweet P and thanks for asking :wub:

I tried a few things:

* - lowering and then increasing t the voltage slowly on my Provari was one of them - this is the PV I was using when a half dozen or so cartos gave out went poof after a few vapes. The carto worked for a bit longer but then poof. {{{{Thank you Blu}}}}}}}

* - Switching over to other PVs and trying the cartos from this same batch -- they worked a little and then burned out too so I figured it had to be a bad batch of cartos {{{{{{Thank you Sweet P for the shorty cartos that kept my vape on ;) }}}}

* - contacting ProVape to figure out if something was wrong with my mini

I was surprised to learn that 5.2v was too high for a 3.O ohm carto :confused: Apparently a 3.5 or 4.0 ohm carto would be better... they sent me this chart:

Safe Vaping Power Chart

I wish my eyes didn't gloss over every time I read specs - they always go into my short term memory :facepalm: :lol:

* - Went back to punching two holes, and using the carto on my BP {{{{{{{Sashie}}}}}}}}

All is well for now - I've gotta put in a new order for cartos and hopefully that will be the end of it :D

Delilah, I'm calling BS on 3.0 ohm cartos not working at 5.2v. If you use Ohm's law, you're vaping at 9 watts, which is well within acceptable limits. Heck, I often vape at 10 watts on some of my carto tanks.

Strange since my all day every day setup for like ever has been 3.0ohm Boge SR cartos on my Reo Mini's running 6v (which with the IFR14250 batts which are 3.2v and 3.4 ish @ full charge= 6.6 - 6.8v:shock: ) with no problems to speak of:confused:

LOL. Delilah, let me see if I can translate: the easiest way to think of it is that the amount of heat you put out is called watts, while the energy used is volts and the resistance (how hard the energy has to work to get the heat) is ohms. To calculate the heat, you take the square of voltage and divide it by the ohms. What the above thread is saying is that the more you use the carto, the lower the resistance gets, meaning it puts out more heat, thus burning out. Easy solution? Dump the provari, get a VAMO, or Zmax, set it to 9 watts and be done. :2cool:

I agree with Reidus, when that was first posted there were two charts, that one to show Power (wattage) and the other to show Amperage. There was a big debate that watts were watts no matter what. This was to inform how watts play in the equation. And that a 1.5Ω cart at 9W pulls 2.45Amps and a 3Ω cart at 9W only pulls 1.73Amps.

Hi Wharf :)

This is what the tech part looks like to me:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Duis vehicula nibh et urna gravida sed tincidunt orci rutrum. Fusce arcu elit, congue vel fermentum id, tristique vel turpis. Curabitur at nisi tortor, suscipit accumsan augue. Donec nulla leo, auctor mollis ultrices a, iaculis pulvinar eros. Nullam ut libero neque.

:lol:

Thanks Wharf :wub:
