...I suddenly have this premonition that I'm going to soon be getting a thermocouple.

Erm, a what..?

While the form factor is nice the downsides seen to be gathering steam...i wonder if they have will use their learnings from this device and launch the nugget + which will take a removable 18650 :)

I hope not!

That would make it huge compared to the current one. Plus I don't use 18650s :)

Just grab a Pico and be done with it ;)

Well, it's here.

It seems to function ok except that it reads the resistance of my coils about 0,14 ohm too high. Is there a way to lock the resistance perhaps? Not sure if it'll change anything but I figure it's worth the try, it currently vapes too hot at the temp settings I'm used to because of the faulty reading.

I tried downloading the manual from Artery's website but when unzipping the download all it contained was a catalogue. That's miss number two already @Artery Vapor.

Software version on mine is 100201604151 by the way, but I haven't checked if it's the latest version (presumably not because I didn't come across a SS TC setting yet).

It is really tiny though. I knew this already but was still amazed when opening the box.

Some pics (zippo for size comparison):

Some more thoughts:

I have some doubts how well the TC works on mine.

I'm using it in TMti mode and when I fire it the wattage on the screen doesn't change. I checked some YT review vids and saw one person having it fire at 18W but mine just keeps displaying the wattage you set it to and since it goes up in increments of 5 18W isn't a possible setting.

If I set the max wattage to 30W it's a pretty hot and harsh vape at only 185 degrees C while I normally vape the same coil on my Evic VT @230C. I'm pretty sure the temp difference comes from the faulty resistance reading though, but that still doesn't explain what's going on with the wattage.

These coils draw a max of around 16W on my VT, but if I set the max wattage to 20W on the Nugget I can barely get a decent vape of it no matter how high I set the temp.

Normally all these little things would make me want to return a device to get my money back immediately, but this thing is just too cute which lets it get away with a lot more then I would normally find acceptable.

So the overall verdict thus far is that I like it, but there's no way I can recommend it to others with the flaws I've encountered so far.

More testing and researching needs to be done though, this is just my first impression.

Thanks for being willing to take the risk to test this. Bummer about the TC - I had high hopes :/

Don't write it off just yet.

Normally I vape around 1,5ml per day and today isn't even over yet and I've already put 2ml through it so it must be doing something right. Battery is still half full as well by the way, not too shabby for such a little guy.

TC mode isn't working the way I'm used to but I haven't had a dry hit yet and my coils didn't melt neither, so it must be doing something at least. Perhaps it's just not displaying what it does on the screen?

I also haven't tried the most recent firmware yet, perhaps it's a game changer but no one seems to want to comment on it so far.

I do hope some more Nugget owners will chime in as well even though they don't seem that keen to share experiences. Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong, or I may even have a faulty unit, idk at this point.

I'll play around with it some more and update here when I have a better understanding of this mod and how it functions, but I am enjoying the little guy so that's one positive at least ;)

Hmmm, something odd just happened...

All I did was leave it alone long enough to let the auto-shut-off kick in, and when I turned it on again it asked new/same coil again and low and behold, it's reading the correct resistance all of a sudden!

edit: not sure what's going on here but everything works as it should now. I recognize the temps where vapor goes from cold to warm to hot again and wattage is fluctuating when I press the fire button. Power draw is similar now with the same coil at the same settings as on my Evic VT.

I use a 3,5mm 9 wrap coil made out of two strands of twisted g1 28g titanium by the way. Comes in at 0,53 ohm, if anyone is curious.

Oh, and not sure if it works or not (no wire to try yet), but I also found a SS TC mode on my Nugget.

I don't how, I don't know why, but I am really happy with how my little Nugget is functioning now. Perhaps I should turn off the auto switch-off function to make sure it doesn't revert to it's previous method of operation though, lol

And the monologue continuous
24462279700_2cc68e3b1d_o.gif

2 days later, everything is still great! The gremlins have not returned.

I'm really liking this thing. I made some adjustments to the content of my juice a couple of days ago which means I can vape a bit more then the 2ml per day max. I had to stick to before (long story, boring story too) so I do find myself charging it a lot.

I currently use it with a Ehpro Bachelor Nano with a large coil (3,5mm ID, 9 wraps) made of two strands of 28g g1 titanium twisted together @0,4ohm that I use in TC mode around 215 to 230 degrees C with the max wattage set to 25W.

The Nano is a 2ml tank and a full charge lasts me about two fillings so 4ml, maybe a little bit more. It charges pretty fast. I usually plug it in when the battery meter drops below the halfway point and it's usually filled to the brim with electricity within 45 minutes or so.

The resistance reading is a little bit off as far as I can tell. My Evic VT reads this coil as 0,39ohm, my little ohm meter reads that same coil as 0,41ohm and the Nugget says it's 0,43ohm. This is confirmed by the fact that I get the same results at slightly lower temps compared to my Evic VT.

One more thing I noticed is that even though the max wattage is set to 25W it hits 40W for just a moment when I fire it before throttling down, or at least is says so on the screen.

What else to say except that I love this little box, I think I need at least one more but I'm gonna test it a little longer to see if it holds up first before purchasing another one.

Mine arrived today and yep as expected, its a t1ts on a bull product.. just charges, and does not have PL2303 for the serial comport built in, to do the firmware upgrades.

That sucks man, I'm sorry. Thanks for trying it though, I'll send Fasttech an email that they have the wrong info on that cable.

Just quick question. Does this mod do SS in TC after the upgrade? Looks great and if I can just open it up once the battery dies and replace it, looks good to me (is that feasible?). Thanks

I bought mine at 3avape and it came with SS TC mode already enabled as far as I can tell. I haven't tested it because I only have titanium wire right now, but the option is available in the menu.

Battery might be hard to replace though from what I gather. Apparently it's a different chemistry then found in common 18350 bats so it might not be safe to put a regular 18350 in there.

No dramas.. madvapes wants to charge me $16 postage to send a $2 item, otherwise i would have gotten it sooner. I'll just wait until FastTech fix this little mess. I got SS TC atm so im good. :)
i can't stand madvapes. their mark up on EVERYTHING is outrageous. every email i get from them i take pleasure in deleting as soon as i see it.
