Why would he have a CAT scan if he was poisoned?

ETA: This one has an appropriate touch of skepticism:

Guns N’ Roses’ DJ Ashba Blames E-Cigarettes for Near Death Experience

"Ashba claims that his ordeal concluded with his doctors advising him to return to real cigarettes 'because my body would go into shock if I just stop smoking,' ergo his recent photo with one of the old-fashioned cancer sticks."

ooookkkk

ETAA: Weirder: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=191812

"After doing a full body CAT scan, the doctors were amazed that every organ in my body was in perfect condition. They advised me to start smoking real cigarettes because my body would go into shock if I just stop smoking..."

How could every organ in his body be in perfect condition? He's in Guns N' Roses.

I posted this in the media forum. I expressed skepticism. Lol. I haven't clicked on your link, but the one I read claimed the doctors told him he had nicotine in his blood equivalent to 33 packs of cigarettes. This seems very unbelievable to me.

Ya think? Full Flavor or Ultra Lights?

ETA:

Marlboro Reds are listed as having 1.1mg of nicotine per cigarette*. 20 cigarettes per pack = 22mg per pack; 33 packs = 726mg

Dontcha think the throat hit would have alerted him to a potential problem?

*Nicotine, Tar, and CO Content of Regular Cigarette Brands

This could easily be the celebrity cover story that always follows these guys and gals. Apparently, he was vaping something slightly higher than the recommended maximums, and I never add anti-freeze to my DIY, bad taste and so forth. Probably was drug related, and not necessarily nicotine. If it was nicotine, then why isn't the story at least, in part, about the arrest of the Polish vendor, not selling +/- 2% nicotine liquid, but, rather 70% pure nicotine, with the anti-freeze kick? I say bull***t. Nicotine exposure at that level will kill any living organism on Earth.

Who knows? Not sure which is more tragic. His brush with death or being in Guns and Roses. Keith Richards has smoked 33 packs a day for 60+ years. Hasn't seemed to slow him down much. :)
too funny!!!! And very true..... Keith Richards also has the equivalent alcohol blood levels of eversol and he just keeps on rocking.. lol

I think this is all just propaganda.. either that, or he ingested nicotine undiluted... maybe the juice tasted so good and down the hatch? Lol

Being as I was in the automotive industry for all of my working years, I remember well when antifreeze was a poison (ethylene glycol), and personally thinks it's wonderful that we were able to switch to a product (PG) that did not kill our dogs & cats.

100mg nicotine base is dangerous, and needs to be handled with care when mixing e-liquids. At the equivalent of 33 packs of cigarettes (700mg) even the fumes off the nicotine would be dangerous, and you would be pushing up daisies if you tried to vape it.

Guess that if you have pure nicotine (1,000mg) base, you damn well better add some antifreeze .. a-er .. PG to it.

The doctor(s) said he should go back to smoking cigarettes because his body would go into shock!? It sounds like he may have been referring to alcoholism and/or illicit substances... and an ecig was thrown into the mix for good measure.

I'm sorry if what I'm going to say will offend some of our more sensitive members here, but I see the doctor(s) going for "natural selection" by telling him he's better off smoking. Come on now, we're talking rock'n'rollers here.

I think his life of illicit drugs has made him incapable of reading or understanding basic instructions. Just because it is called "Juice" does not mean you drink it :p

I guess just because you are a rock star does not make you smarter than a 5th grader? The story lacks common sense. E cigarettes do not kill people since delivery systems do not matter when overdosing, just the amount you take matters. If he is getting a 100mg base and smokes the whole damn thing in 10 minutes, yeah he's gonna get sick. It is so sad that the media and other people attack these things when everyday people have no information on them, so they automatically assume that the products are unsafe. My mom and dad did not bash me when I made the switch, they did their research before they commented on me using e-cigs. I'm 29 years old so their opinion doesn't matter anyways, but they have enough respect not to comment on something they have no information on. My dad was concerned about PG there for a while until he learned his toothpaste contained it, and then he learned his cat food contained it lol, now he is more concerned with the crap that is allowed into our foods and less concerned about me vaping it.

    ...

Not saying that the reference in the article to Smoking 33 Packs of Cigarettes in 1 Day might have been a Tad Over Exaggerated....

    ... Just say'n.

Hell if he gets 100mg nicotine base on his skin he would get sick! The juice that we vape is in the 10mg-20mg range. I put 1ml of that 100mg base in a 10ml bottle of my juice.
