And it could kill a mod. Some mods can't take the amperage of what yours is doing (5 and 6v w/ 1.6ohm) without frying the switch or other components.

Or possibly fry the functionality without actually damaging the parts--at least that's how it seems in my case :) I've now built the mod twice using the same components (gutted it, all the parts tested good, rebuilt it--and it worked again for a while)--but now the case is sitting empty waiting for the last "higher quality" part to rebuild it faster...stronger...better than it was before... ;)

So, is it true that DCC's can take voltages up to 5v or is that just bs? I've read on some vendor sites that they can go up to 5v.
...

The reason an atty or carto would not survive a voltage is because the resistance of the wire is too low thus heating the element to the point of melting (very quickly, so it seems to "pop"). Dual Coil Cartomizers offer 1.6 ohms resistance (in this case) because they are two coils connected in parallel to the battery--this cuts the effective resistance in half, creating a "virtual" 1.6 coil. The fact is, though, that individually the coils are 3.2 ohms and can handle anything any other 3.2 ohm coil could handle.

I've been using my 1.6 DCC's at 6v in the GGTB for three days now--lots of "new" flavours :)

Not a vet or a mod, but I would say yes. I had that happen- it actually melted my ego though- and the charger melted too.

are you sure its an ego? or could it be a knock off? because, there are a few that they will tell you DO NOT CHARGE with an ego charger- an FS... (I think) ego is like that- I have that kit, but gave it away because I didnt want to mix it up with my rivas and egos. and a Riva charger is what fried my ego battery. could have just been a bad charger, but it was in a 'new kit' (RIVA) that I traded for. Both batts that came in the kit are still going strong, but they fried my one ego battery, adn ruined the charger. So I dont mix the two now. PERIOD.

I got an ego batt in a trade, they said it was new and I only charged it 3 times, now the light comes on but know matter what carto I put on it it wont vape. Also the charger that was "new" gets real hot like it could catch fire. Could the charger have fried the batt?

I had this happen with a knock off eGo once. The charger and battery both got very hot while connected. I didn't know which one was to blame. In my case, it ended up being the battery and it was a defective 2ohm Boge carto that fried it...and a T-Rex battery as well.

There's no real definitive answer for you. It could be the battery fried the charger, or the charger fried the battery. If the charger is getting hot with other eGo batts, it's a safe bet that you need to toss it.

Infinity pro kit, with 1 set of batts and charger for $110, is a really nice price point for a solid design. Good battery life. "ECF Buzzkill" coupon code. 15W max power, 3.5 - 5.5v.

Buzz pro kit runs $30 - $40 more than ip, shorter and wider tho otherwise the same performance.

Lava tube is back available, a bit cheaper, though less proven and more limited current capability.

Provari is popular, though the price for a full set is hard to wrap my head around, and noticeably heavier than the notcigs products based on what others have said. It's got the same max power limit as lt and darwin, I believe.

Provari sounds a bit iffy on runtime without the really large battery and extender. A recent post mentions around 3.5 ml of eliquid between swaps on an 18650, I'm used to 6 - 7 ml of vaping on notcigs equipment. The post is consistent with earlier things I had seen on it. People who like the provari seem to really like it, so it is undoubtedly a solid pv.

Ok, this could be moot by the time it is answered, but I will ask anyway

So, in the regular PIF thread I posted an ego batt and fixins and it was taken in 5 minutes flat (yay!) - the poster (warlike36) then proceeds to PIF a juice I have been DYING to try, and it was over 13 hrs ago so I am wondering . . . can I repeat my offer? I got 2 of these freebie ego batts and I am thinking this week ppl may be more in the mood for a little pv they can give to a family member or co-worker who smokes rather than juice. I know the rules don't prohibit taking back to back but rule 14 makes it sound like, well, that's why I'm asking. Thoughts?? Thanks - Paiz

New bottles, asstd. sizes

Could you please tell me where to get bottle labels? I have looked in all the nooks and crannies on sites I think should have them and no luck. Thanks

Any office supply store should carry all kinds of labels. Many DIY'ers have label makers which hold cartridges of different styles of stick-on labels. HTH

What is a good place you might recommend for purchasing batteries? I would REALLY like to find ONE place where I could buy all the different sizes I need LOL. My most recent mods require 18350's & 15270's!

I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything else that used a different size battery, but I was weak LOL. The standard sizes seem to be available at most vendors (14500, 18650 & 16340), but the 15270 & 18350 seem to be a little harder to find.

FINALLY, the Black and Red, AW ICR batteries are my favorite. Is there anything available in th 15270, 10440 & 18350 that would be comparable to the AW ICR in those sizes?

Thanks so much! & Happy Holidays
