Is RTS nic sold in glass bottles or plastic? I was looking at the 300mg liter specifically to break down.

I've heard that amber glass is better for keeping out light, and that cobalt glass is better... I'm thinking amber would be better, but would like your thoughts.

Very good to know about storing flavorings in glass. I had thought that would be best, but didn't really know for sure.

Thanks! Really glad I found this, a lot of good information here, and confirmation of stuff.
Our nic is sold in PET Amber bottles with Child Resistant caps. While the nic can be stored in the PET bottles for about a year, the best storage and long term storage is in glass. Amber is better for keeping out UV light and cobalt is next in line, but you cannot go wrong with either type.

One factor in VG nic versus PG that I keep thinking about is the potential water content in VG. I expect some vendors add it, as some ECF members have noted that the viscosity was similar to PG from some sources. Would the presence of even a small amount of water increase the oxidation rate of VG nic?

I vape mostly menthol flavored juices and I would like to know how best to use your Menthol Crystals. I've been using either CAP or TFA Menthol in my mixes but there's a premium juice that's no longer available that claims to use natural organic menthol crystals that I would like to duplicate. It really does have a much cleaner smother menthol taste.

I just placed an order for 1oz of your crystals and I've read that 1gr/1ml pg is the preferred ratio, just wondering how best to use your crystals.
Everything I have read on the use of menthol crystals suggest that you want to mix it at about 10%. So 1 gram of crushed crystals in 10 mL of PG. The mix percentage for that solution is about 1-2%.

Water should not be a concern so long as the VG is USP grade and water isn't being added to the mix.

No, water should not be a major concern for oxidation.

Hello to all my ECF Vapers out there! If you have questions, this is the place to post them.

My name is Joshua and I am the Chemist on staff at RTS Vapes. I have been working for RTS and vaping for going on 2 years now. I am not and never was a smoker, but I have a real passion for this industry and helping others in their quest for a better vaping experience. So, if you have a question please do not hesitate to ask it on here and I will do my best to get you the correct answer as soon as possible.
Have you ever heard of vaping causing or irritation to ulcers? I'm 29 and recently had a lot of blood loss last week, doctors didn't give me much of an explanation. I did tell them how much i vaped and that was there main concern. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you for your time

How tall is the 1 liter amber bottle you sell whether it holds the product or is an accessory item?

I have several liters of 100 mg nic. One bottle is divided into 4 250 ml amber bottles and the rest is in a 1 liter amber bottle. It takes about a year to empty a 250 ml bottle. Call that the active bottle. It gets opened 26 times, once every two weeks. Does the active bottle need to be in the freezer? Will the nic do okay for one year at room temperature?

I'm not scared of 100 mg nic but I wear safety glasses to remind me to keep my hands away from my eyes. I keep a spill kit handy meaning mop, bucket, sponge, nitril gloves and a dust pan in case I drop and break a bottle of concentrate. Is there anything you would add to the kit?

Is 250 mg concentrate advisable for long term storage or should I make due with 100mg?

Finally, do you have any confidence about how the new FDA rules will effect our access to your products (nic in particular) in the next two years and in the years after that?

I do have another question. I've been keeping my pg/vg in the plastic gallon containers they come in, and was thinking about putting some in the white plastic squeeze bottles chefs use for olive oil etc. Is this ok, or should pg/vg also be kept in glass.
Putting them in the squeeze bottles will be fine. I would switch out the bottles a couple times a year just to ensure cleanliness.

OK ...now I do have a question :)
Unlike many vendors , RTS Vapes nic doesn't have "that peppery taste" ... it's damn good nic
What's your secret? (..as if you could tell  )
...is it your supplier , or ...something else that RTS does ...
Thanks
Our "secret" is everything ;). It starts with our high quality USP grade nicotine and our tender love and care in the preparation, storage, and shipping to our customers. :)

Hi Josh, I've been storing my nic in a deep freezer using amber glass bottles and plastic caps with P/E cone liners. I'm concerned that the nic may start to eat away the PE liner when stored for 5 plus years.
I'm thinking of switching to the below metal caps with a Poly Vinyl Liner instead.
22mm 22-400 Black Metal Cap with Poly Vinyl Liner
With using the metal caps, I'm thinking of pumping the bottle with wine preserver gas as mentioned in another thread and leaving a little bit of space between the nic and cap to avoid direct contact between the nic and Vinyl Liner.
What are your thoughts?

The 1 Liter amber PET bottle with the cap is 10 inches tall.

Yes, the active bottle should be stored in the freezer as well and taken out to warm to room temp. about an hour or two before use.

The only thing I would add to your kit would be some cat litter or Xsorb or any other drying type agent to sprinkle over the spill. Then that could be swept up and then the floor mopped.

The nicotine should hold up fine, but since it is a stronger strength you will notice a darkening of the solution faster and it will have a slightly stronger smell because it is stronger. One other option is to dilute it further and store in more bottles unless you are trying to conserve space in your freezer.

Lastly, Executive management is currently reviewing the regulations in great detail and the regulations will have no immediate effect on RTS' daily operation.

Thanks for taking questions.

I've put the glass bottles in heavy zip lock bags and re wrapped them in the bubble wrap they were shipped in for the freezer. Is there a better way to wrap them?

Are there higher quality caps available, perhaps made for lab work?

Forgive me if this has been asked already. I keep a gallon each of PG and VG in their original containers at room temperature. They will be opened once a year and take 3-4 years to empty. Is this storage good enough?

That solution would be fine. The other down side to the PE cone caps is that they break pretty easily when dropped.

No Problem. I love questions! :)

The bottles do not need packing/wrapping before going in the freezer unless you are concerned about the bottles breaking. If that is the case, the measuring you are currently taking sound good enough.

I am not sure what caps you are using, but you just want to make sure that the lining in your cap is a PE vinyl, or an F217 material, or something comparable that has a right resistance to chemicals.

That storage is fine. Just make sure that they are kept in a cool, dark place (ie. at room temp. and out of direct sunlight). Technically the shelf life for PG and VG is 2 years, but they should theoretically never go "bad".
