Thanks, 5card..... I really appreciated your words. It was a couple of years ago, but it still weighs on my mind. What frosted me the most was how cold the personnel were in the hospital when he passed. Not one word of condolence or what steps to take next..... I walked out in a daze not knowing what to do.... He lived a full life and I'm grateful for the time I did have with him. Time does make things feel a little better though.

I know the feeling. I lost my dad and had a few words with some people that I thought didn't handle it that good.

I realize that death is "run of the mill" to hospital workers, but a little compassion or a hand on your shoulder would sure go a long way. I just got the feeling I was in a "mill" and it was just routine. Maybe to them it is, but not to me. What really frosted me was he was on staff there for over 50 years..... he helped built that hospital. Suffice to say, for all he did for that place, I felt a little more respect for him was appropriate. What I got instead was a group of residents making sure he was dead by doing a doppler on his ankle and the head resident then saying "yep, he's not in good shape" and off to another room they went..... duh..... he just passed away you dork. But, have to worry more about the legalities than the people anymore I guess. Maybe because I was saying Kaddish in Hebrew made them think I didn't speak English. Who knows.....
Sorry, I'm ranting.... don't want to go there. Again, I thank you for your kindness, 5card. Guess you can tell the whole thing still stings.

LOL..... sorry, I just "discovered" the Infinity while looking for a more apropos VVPV for my wife. The one I currently use is too heavy and also too large for her hands. I read about the Infinity several times and man, am I glad I went to the Notcigs site and checked them out.
To date, my wife and I have only used 510 devices and I got to thinking that we were sort of "boxed in" in terms of options. Yeah, we could buy adapters, but after reading some of the replies, it made more sense to me to get the 901 conn vs the 510. Now, with a few adapters, we have many more options. Also there have been some problems as 5C pointed out with the center post on quite a few of the 510 atty's and carto's. Then, when BuzzKill chimed in with his very neutral opinion about 510 conn's, my mind was made up. I'm sure you have read BuzzKill's comments in this thread.
All is not lost for you though, fourboxers..... pick up some adapters and then you will have more flexibility -- you will just be going in the "opposite direction" when buying adapters going from the 510 to the 808 or 901 conn. I can't count how many times I wanted to pick up some 510 CE2's only to find all the 510's sold out, but plenty of 808's still in stock. Now, we have the flexibility to "swing several ways".
I do think that "extension and connector" you referenced is the right one -- I can't remember which thread that was in now. I was sort of waiting for confirmation to be sure, but after looking closely at them, I'm pretty comfortable that is the correct conn.
No matter which conn, I'm sure you are gonna love the Infinity. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the one for my wife. Plus, when you decide you need a back up Infinity, you can order that one with the 901 conn!!!!
Whew, I type too much....... horton ----- out

PS.... use a paper clip or a dental pick to gently pull that center pin out. Just be gentle and don't try to move it too far. Doesn't take much movement to get good contact.

This is a great subforum, Fourboxers. As you can see, if you have a question, answers are forthcoming in a pretty rapid manner. And they are spot on -- take mine with a grain of salt, I'm still learning.
Seriously, when I started to get info on the Infinity I was really pleased with both the warm welcome and the candid replies to my questions. Some here may have rather strong opinions (no names mentioned to protect my safety), but what the heck, after I was done crying when my favorite connector was bashed to pieces, everything was OK. Plus I learned something in the process.
Please post back how things went adjusting that center pin. I've been able to save quite a few 510 cartos by moving it just a smidge -- I'm sure you will too.

I thought it had worked but it stopped. When it happened yesterday I read the forum about the centre pic and tried it then and thought I wasn't doing it right but I seem to raise it won't stay though when I screw it on.

Okay I got it, it needed a little more than I was doing, I thought I was going to break it. Working now thanks.

Strike that it stopped again. It's frustrating.

After you raise the center post hold the button on while your screwing the carto back on. As soon as it makes contact stop there. I think your screwing the carto on too far and just pushing the center post back in.

Don't worry, Fourboxers....... all of this is interesting, entertaining, and related. I'm not upset at all..... enjoying reading the posts......
Keep at it.. you will get them to work.... 5C had two good points..... screwing on too far and trying the use of an extension... It's a hobby.... have to explore all the options.

It sounds like my new one had the same problem except mine only worked for about 5 minutes. Sometimes when I wiggled it or tap it on the table it would work for a bit and then crap out again. Just sent it back and still waiting to hear. Although I am a little concerned about hearing that I am going to have to buy some adapter for it to work on here? Is it weird to expect that if they're new they'd work?

Green we have seen a HUGE variation in cartozz lately all over the place , this started happening about 1-2 months ago before that there were no real issues ! , If the BLu LED is on it should HIT , if it does not then there is a contact problem.

You can also pull on the center post on the infinity a bit just be careful and do not pull it out to far.

We will get you guys up and running one way or another .

If I understand what your trying to say, you never have to use any adapter if all you ever use are what your native cap is.
I want to be a bit more flexable to use others so I can use 510,801,808,910's just by adding a small adapter.
I read a lot better just by adding glasses, so to me, it is no biggies to use a small adapter.
