Unless battery technology jumps ahead, I'm not likely to go on to anything more advanced than circa 2011 gear.

I use a couple of Itaste VV 3's and 650 ma VV Ijoy evods. T3 and Evod tanks that are bored and stroked for maximum performance.
Ancient gear? Well about 18 months since it was leading edge? I guess that is ancient in the vaping world where what you bought today is already in V2 before you get yours in the mail.
Got my Evod VV batts for $3-$7 each. My Itaste VV3's for $10 each. My T3's for $3 each and my genuine Evods for $1.50 ea. Make all my own delicious juice for pennies and do all my recoil and rewick. My actual consumables used each month is about $20-25.
I have build up a big flavor library though. About 70 flavors. Still spending lots less than on smoking and enjoying it lots more.

running my T3's at up to 17 watts right now and still good vape no dry hits , leaks or gurgles. Should be good for at least 20 watts.

Well about 18 months since it was leading edge?

I did upgrade from the Aspire ET-Ss that I used for the first year, but I had good luck going back to reviews of products that were the latest & greatest 9 months earlier. They were cheap & better suited to my vaping style than the latest sub-ohb gear. I ended up with to Lemo V1s for $17 each, and at Aga-T5 for $10. I even have a RBA that I semi-toodle-poof with (OK, I'm up to 17W there).

I get my ego batts equally cheaply.

I'm down to using less than $5 worth of liquid per month, and my atties last and last. I may have to reinstate my challenge to your claim of being THE Frugal Tootie Puffer.

I vape almost exclusively unflavored, usually between 4 and 5 watts. I take it that your "right now" vape of 17 watts is just a once in a while thing.

Now I just need a couple new mods, and I'm set for the foreseeable future.

@Robert Cromwell, do you rebuild your kanger coils? I have a couple of aerotank minis ($10 each) that I liked a lot, but I've never been very successful at rebuilding the coils, and I've promised myself I'm not going to buy any more. If you do rebuild, do you have any pointers? I've got the gist of it, but I think I'm not wicking it correctly.

The lowest I vape at is 8 watts or a bit more. At this time I am vaping 1.5 ohms at 5 volts and a good vape can't chain vape it enough to get a dry hit.

I am running 2mm diameter 1.4-1.6 ohm 30 ga coils with cotton wicks in my T3's and Evods. The stems and pins are bored out as are the air holes in the base. And the wick slots are enlarged to 2 mm.

Is it a real airy draw that way?

Watch youtube videos on rebuilding Kanger protank coils.
Yes I rebuild all my coils. And modify them as well.

Ohh MUCH more airy than a stock Evod or T3 or protank with the ego base. I also have 3 of those for cracker juices. I can do slow lung hits on my modded T3's and Evods. And to be honest I make some respectable klowdz.
Still a pretty cool vape though. Just slightly warm.
Just how airy? I do not know as I have only used them or cartos or esmarts before and have no real point of reference.

I fund some Protank 2's for under $7 with trim collar and 2 extra coils. think I might get a couple of those since they will use my Modded Kanger coil heads. And I need a couple more glass tanks for cracker juices.
I've been finding Protank minis really cheap. I converted an Evod Glass into a single coil device. I also use Smoktek Aero 2, with Kanger coils.

I don't like dual coils, and I greatly prefer bottom coils.

Oh, I've watched them -- over and over. I think the coils are so small, and the camera's so zoomed in that I lost perspective on the amount of wick. I can rebuild them, and they always come out 1.5, which was my goal, but the draw is wrong.

Smoktek Aero 2, is that the same as the Kanger Aerotank 2?

I like single BCC's too. The smoktek Aero2 works with Kanger single coils?
Yes I found some Protank minis today for $5 each. I assume the Evod Glass had the stacked dual coils?

What do you mean the draw is wrong? Too tight? Loose?

Yes, they work, but they've got to sit just right, or they don't make the connection, so I have to keep extending the pin out, which I don't like. I've read that the Kanger T3's work, so I'm gonna get some.

The smoktek coils smell and taste like rubber. Yuk. Maybe it's just the batches I've gotten from, but I've read about others having that problem with them.
