yeah that was basically the summation of my entire life (people thinking I am something I am not)
That is my life in a different curve for me. I have carefully constructed a facade to convince people that I am something that I am not.
Kinda like Robin Williams.

Life is all we are certain to have.
This is a lie. We are coming up on six months of my friend being stabbed through the neck and heart over a petty fued by a crack head. Humans are a very easy thing to break because we are so complex. Break a bone right and you die. Traumatic experiences can break you mentally till you want to die. And then you can die by your own hands

Not if we are getting into spiritual as in deities or life after death "truths".

 Cromwell, I am disappointed in you ..... You have not yet seen what some of us have I suppose --- that's okay because each in their own time for sure.... I am referring to spiritual matters here as opposed to carnal ones ..... It's okay Cromwell, cause I place much stock in you :)

Just my "truth" or viewpoint. imho we cannot prove that any life beyond this physical one exists. Just my opinion/belief though. I am just sayin that take care of yourself because nothing afterwards is guaranteed. Most believe that it does though.
I guess I should have said "This life is all we are certain to have".

Again just my viewpoint as are all spiritual beliefs.

I envy those who can find comfort in spiritual beliefs. I have none and am not able to believe in them. I tried but there is a piece of me missing in that area.

 Cromwell -- what am I going to do with you? ----- of course spiritual things cannot be proven, hence the word "faith"...faith is the direct opposite of proof --------- the trouble with us scientifically minded people is that we always want proof and facts -- but faith screams at us to do away with that nonsense and simply believe.

Cromwell brother, I am the exact same way -- I know exactly how you feel ---- but that doesn't mean I don't know about it.

I spent the 1st 16 years of my life in a church. Well several hours a week of it anyway ;)
Read the entire bible a few times.
Even went to a local church with the wife unit who does believe like most people do for a couple of years a few years ago. Became friends with the preacher and discussed things with him. He made me superintendent of the church knowing that I do not believe.
You can be a good and kind person and not be a Christian. And from what I have seen you can also hate and kill in the name of Christ.
I just am unable to believe in a supreme God. As I said a piece of me is missing in that area.
And I refuse to claim to believe when I do not. To me that is far worse than claiming to believe when you do not.

Ain't it funny how the world works?
A girl who was trying to go back to school and was working almost full time had to get killed by some one who had zero life goals and ambition.
2 lives completely destroyed and a family torn apart. A whole group of good people who never deserved this got it because some one couldn't take a step back and things got physical and cowardly. And yet some one like me who has so much shame and guilt over what he has done walks freely every day to feel the cold whisper of the wind on my face as I walk out the door to go to work every day and have to play catch up on all my mistakes and unpaid debts. (Not financial)

I have lost 2 fine Brother in-laws in the last year. Both loved life and were loved. Both are gone and missed badly. yet here I am one who does not really care much for this life still disgustingly healthy except for pain.. Life is NOT fair.

    No
once I die that the the total end of me.

That thought process has been with humans for eons ---- consider this axiom though (I forgot the name of it) ----- Would you rather be a believer and be wrong at the end of your life or would you rather be agnostic/atheist and be wrong at the end of your life?

Does not matter since I am unable to believe. I am what I am and that is all.
