No we have wolf spiders here to and they can get fairly large....but these miserable wood spiders are lots larger and fatter.

Yep, Wolf spiders down here. Huge things and if you stamp or swat them often hundreds of tiny baby ones run everywhere.
Go for a clean kill they are dangerous if just wounded. And can jump 30 feet!

I'm okay with them actually. Mostly because where I live we generally only have little ones and they don't bite or attack or carry babies around with them.
I've seen one in the three years I've lived in my house and the cat ate it.

Now, if these things were that size? . . . . .
