Thank you, but I am currently going to get back into the ancient art of Java .... I have already done quite a bit in python and 'R' is too business-like for my liking. I am ......ed because I like the old C-based languages. The code looks cool too me. I like C++ but it's libraries are a real trip for sure. I am awaiting some good teaching material on Perl 6 to come out. I guess I am really strange because I like the looks of cryptic type languages. Python and Ruby are too much like English for my liking.

Fair enough.

    Fair enough.

I suppose the crux of all my language hopping is that I am looking for some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I suppose a language that does not exist. I need to learn to stick to just one and forget about the rest. No language is perfect and there are always going to be things a a person doesn't like about it. I suppose I have been on some weird mental campaign in the hopes I can find a language that I like 100%... I seriously doubt that will ever happen :(

Axiom, maybe I missed this in the thread (because I was so late to this party) but what is it you do? I'm assuming you program or something?

nah... well, sort of.... I mean I have learned various languages for my own personal enjoyment. I am not employed as a programmer and I doubt I would ever want to be lol ... Too many in house rules and such.... My formal education is in electronics but my interests have morphed into other areas since then

What about yourself, do you like programming in any language?

I was an English major in college and I've worked in the title insurance field since then (I proof-read legal docs for a living). I find it terribly mind numbing and horrible and I've been looking for a pathway out, but haven't figured out what that is yet. I started trying to learn python off and on this year, but it's not going so well for me. Mostly because, right now, I don't have any sort of focus, and also, because I feel like I have no foundation for any of this knowledge to sit on.

I was looking into doing the Coursera classes to learn more and maybe switch careers or something crazy, but right now my focus has just been on getting my life back together and I haven't had much time for class.

yeah I understand that. Nothing wrong with programming and it is wise you are fiddling with it because of the way the economy is now days. Still lots of tech and programming jobs but finding employment in other fields may be tougher.

By training and experience, I'm an statistical analyst/econometrician. I was one of the regional economists for my state, and have done a lot of consulting for the DOL/ETA. Right now, i don't have any contracts, so I'm working as an editor (sort of). I've got two kids with learning disabilities who study from home, so mostly I'm an at-home-teacher, single parent, stay at home mom.

That's 100% what it is right now. I mean, <3 my english degree but I'm a graduate school dropout because it's just not worth it in this economy. I've been trying to find something that makes more sense financially. Bonus points if I have to deal with fewer people in my day-to-day

I really need to update my skills. I never had the credentials commensurate for what I was doing, anyway, and this stint at home has pretty much tanked my career.

have you considered trying pipe or cigar tobacco in an herb vaporizer Seego Reload Atomizer 1100mAh Slv Battery USB Charger Dry Herb Vape Vaporizer | eBay dry herb vaporizers are popular among the MMJ crowd and should work with real tobacco as well.cigarette tobacco has oxidizers added which may cause it to ignite in this type of vaporizer but good pipe or cigar tobacco should work
I've read lots of comments on portable dry herb vaporizers, and they practically all say that the vast majority can't vaporize, but end up burning the tobacco, the excepetion being some very expensive devices. If there were a good atomizer with a 510 or ego connection, I'd want one.

For a while before I was vaping liquids, I was using a non-portable vaporizer to vape tobacco. It was way too strong for me, and I kept working on ways around that, including baking the tobacco a liitle bit before using it. It tasted great, but was a lot of fuss, and nowhere near as effective or enjoyable as standard nic vaping. It wasn't until I bought and started using liquid vaping in standard devices, that I quickly quit smoking.

I was using additive-free tobacco, since I had read that it might be very risky to inhale the added chemicals in vaporized form. I still contemplate getting one of those expensive Pax/Ploom portable dry leaf vaporizers, though I'm aware that you still inhale nitrosomines that way. I'd just use it once in a while, and continue with my usual vaping.

I wish I knew English like you do....when I was in school I was horrible at it.... come to think of it, I was horrible at most everything. It really sucks about the economy and you feeling forced to dropout :( But, you are wise for thinking about a different course of action.

Yeah I have heard some pretty unfavorable things about the herbal tanks for these vaporizers.

I swear my brain only processes things while I do dishes. You were an English major. I don't know how unusual that really is for folks on the spectrum, but it does go against stereotypes. Cool.
