Yeah, that age of 54 says that I 'technically' am a grown up.

I was about to tag you there. If you saw it when you were a kid, you probably saw it at the theatre. I don't remember it ever being shown on TV. I saw it in the theatre. It was the opening feature before the Batman movie (the real one with Adam West). So that dates us both pretty well.

My "primary care" doctor is a woman. Not my type at all. Fitness nut. But she's really attractive. She seems to like to mess with her patients heads, though. She wears tight spandex pants all the time. It's like she's telling her male patients "Like this? Can't have it", and her female patients "yeah, you could've looked like this when you were 40 if you weren't a lazy slob that likes to eat".

I'm not being sexist, either. None of my male doctors wear spandex anywhere.

I'll try to remember yours, too. October sometime. My brother was born on the 8th. He'll be 47.

Back to the compulsive thing. Last night, I went through the drawers in my shop, and found enough vaping stuff (mostly small parts) to cover 4 feet of my 6 foot long workbench. I took a pic of it, but haven't been able to post it yet.

All of that was accumulated since the last week of June, when I bought my first cigalike. It really took me back when I took stock of it all.

Yes, but not as much as the cigarettes did. But it's doable.

I would mostly say a crutch, but it also helps me focus throughout the day.

So to the folks with over double my age have you had a good and long lasting relationship? Or has it been to hard to emotionally connect? And is it crazy for me to be willing to give up all of my dreams for my partners dreams?

I'm not double your age, however i've only have had long lasting relationships so far. ( 2/ 2 / 3 / 4 years)
And i wouln't advise you to give up your dreams for your partner. I feel the same, i'll do anything to make it work etc. But never give up your own dreams. That will make you miserable in the end. However compromises is a part of every relationship though. So it's kinda like Give and take situation. If i understand you correctly.

If you want x and your gf want y, and you cant agree? Meet eachother half way. And make a compromise.

How old are you? You're making me feel old.

I would think hard about having a long term relationship with someone who wanted me to make all of the sacrifices.

I've been married for 30 years. My wife had her own issues growing up, and her own challenges today. When we were kids (we met when I was 13 and she was 14) we offered each other support and comfort. We continue to this day.

Nobody's perfect, and nobody should expect perfection of anyone else. Relationships require sacrifice, and it doesn't bode well if one party is doing all of the sacrificing.

That's a harder point to figure... Kids is a huge decision. If you realy don't want children right now, steer away from that. I doubt you hate them. Eventually you'll want one and love one. But if the time is not right for you atm, don't give in to make a baby at this point.
No matter how much she wants a baby and you hate the idea of one... it's not gonna match. It will not end well.

Also for how long have you been togheter? that's also a big point imo. I wouldn't even dream of a kid before we've been togheter 2 maybe even 3 years.
First few years you realy get to know eachother. And if you're not living togheter with her, there's still much to learn. Once living togheter a relationship can change drastically. It's one thing seeing eachother ocassionally. Compared to living with her each day. You can't realy get a real feeling before you actually move in togheter.

But ye, if she wants to move that's an easier decision to make. But as i interpreted your message atm, she want's a kid and you do not. And i wouldn't put a baby to this earth without me willing to do so, and be there for him/her.

Also as a side story.
My ex GF wanted a baby sooo badly for over 2 years. Then suddenly she got the realisation that she's not ready yet. She wanna wait a few more years before making that move. Which was very wise of her to do.
I've several friends that made kids early on. And while all of them love their kids to the death, they're still not realy happy where they are atm. Just due they got kids so early. (18) And you're 20 as far as i could tell?

So with the kid part, just take it slow and easy.

I was 19 when I met my wife. I knew that she wanted children, and I gave in to the notion of them. But we didn't have our first until well after we were married. I'm thinking I was 27 before our first. We now have two teenagers, and I couldn't be happier without them. So, to me, accepting the idea of children is completely different than having them.
