I'm way to far behind to catch up all that I've missed in here, but did have to jump in quickly on that. Gabapentin (neurontin) has been pretty much a miracle drug for me. And I know that even more now since I'm having to drastically reduce and probably quit taking it completely because of a bizarre side-effect (not something to worry about unless you have really bad kidney function) and I am literally hurting all over. Thus why I've been gone most of the last week.

I have Transverse Myelitis - think of it as sort of like multiple sclerosis but with just one really big lesion in the spinal cord, resulting in what acts a lot like a bad spinal cord injury. But one of the main effects is severe neuropathy and fun other nerve special effects. (The reason that I started vaping is that the inability to hold onto a lit cigarette is a very immediate health risk.) And gabapentin has worked really well for that, and, apparently as a pretty good general pain control med.

I didn't have any of the more standard side effects that it can cause, but if you have lousy kidney function it can build up in your system and cause myoclonus - very weird random twitches. As side effects go it could be fairly benign, unless you use your computer a lot (like every waking hour) since random twitches can make typing and using a trackball pretty close to impossible. And trying to enter passwords can take 6 or 7 attempts.

So my neurologist has had me ramping gradually down in the amount I take, in the fond hope that there would be an amount I could still take that would still help with the neuropathy but without the myoclonus. Well, we hit the dosage where it no longer helps with the pain, but still causes side effects. Which is why I've been "staying home" sick all week. It looks like we're going to have to try to figure out something else that might work.

But the whole point of this rant is that there isn't anything else that works as well for neuropathy as gabapentin. i'm really going to miss it. I'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming once I catch up to the next 10 pages I've missed.
I tried neurontin once, at the urging of a neurologist. I'd had bad experiences with other meds for tics, and he said this was worth a try, because although its record for helping tics isn't that good, it helps some people a bit, and has very little to worry about regarding bad side effects.

This was about 15 years ago, and I have no idea if any neurologists ever prescribe it for tics anymore. It did absolutely nothing for me. I felt nothing from it. No diminished ticcing, no noticeable side effects - nothing.

I hope you and your neurologist find something helpful without it being hurtful. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Sir Cromwell, ninnininiiccc? Mr tuba? Lol
Try the meditation?
I know is weird for some folks.
But try?
I live with 2 crazy women, I legally the other just mostly. Work in a retail job where the management is completely Knee jerk style and it is a struggle just to go to lunch. No one to take your phone, etc. If I went to prison I could do some meditation and have an actual schedule. As it is I am surrounded by chaos and kneejerkism.

My quart of nic base 100 per ml,
Is only half empty after a full year.
I mix to about 3 or 4 as well.
Capella flavors are wonderful!
Yeah it cost a bit up front.
About a carton of smokes worth.
Easy math for me.
It is so great to mix your own.
Custom flavors and you know what it contains .
I go pure vg and thin with distilled water or vodka. 10%.
Works in all my tanks.
overall I like CAP flavorings the best. Not found any Inawera I can handle or like. found a few TFA that are ok but not great. The CAP tobaccos suck though.

Straterra helps quiet my mind.
(Forgive me if I'm way off base here)
Can you forgive yourself/others for those regrets?
Is something i work on every day.
It's not easy.
But if you spend your present and future trying to be a good person/partner,
Then, breath. And forgive.
Try a guided meditation?
On itunes podcast. Try meditation oasis.
Try it every day for a week.
They are free.
When you message us. ... i hear you.
You have to forgive. Let go.
It's OK.
(Again. Sorry if I'm. ..... whatever)
OK?
Very good advice.
I like to watch "The Happy Preacher" (as my mom called him) - Joel Osteen. Cheers me up.

I'm getting ready to place my first order for DIY. I was thinking about ordering TFA, just 'cause the testing is there. Do you know what the word is on Capella? I've bookmarked all the flavor company threads, but some of them are LONG. I'm currently looking for recipes in the TFA thread, and it's 530+ pages.

The CAP and Flavor West seem to have the most flavorings with the most tasty Diketones and such. With CAP if you get the V2 flavors they have been reformulated with none or very little of the "bad" stuff in them. Personally I like the bad stuff best ;)

Bad stuff tastes best? Yeah, I was kind of thinking that might be the case, given my experiences so far trying to buy pre-made without it.

Love George Thorogood.

Somehow listening to that I just want to get my old bike out and ride and just keep going. Alas I would be too crippled to go on after an hour or two...
Can't you just ride it for 10 minutes? Let the wind go through your hair?

I read that this morning. Awful.

For the record, and it took me a couple reads to this, it's just in buildings & during public gatherings, that sort of thing. Not to say that it's OK, but my first thought was, "Wow, I'll never get to go back to Yellowstone."
