In the past week, my last window fan died in the middle of a heat wave, and then my microwave.

I gotta get offline soon and get a new microwave. I might put off getting another fan 'til next year, since my place is so cluttered.
I had a window unit in my bedroom. Like to get it cold in my room before getting under the covers. I turned it on 2 weeks ago, and all it did was hum. Well, it had lasted for many years and was looking gross anyway, so I got another one, well............after pushing the old one out.......I got a not so little surprise.

He just kept coming out. I have NO idea how he fit! But I'm glad he didn't come out in my room and get in bed with me. lol

Bad luck indeed.
I think the heat may be done for the year?
I hope so.

I would have screamed and dropped the whole thing out the window.

lol. I know you guys are talking about rats, he's a rat snake. They are ok. I hate the coach whips. They're cocky!!! The other day I was walking out to my truck to go grocery shopping and one popped up at me out of the grass and glared at me! They are periscopic like cobras but non-venomous. But they bite real hard and fast. I just started slowly walking backwards. Got to the hose and sprayed his ..... That sucker was at least 5.5 feet long.

What's the humidity to go along with that? We've had a weird summer up here in MN. It harly even hit 90, but I hadn't realized how miserable 86 can be at 90 percent humidity.

Yea, my sister lives in New Orleans. When I visit there I take at least 2 showers a day.
It's not that bad of humidity here. 40's

OK, those are some reasons I'm glad that I live in MN. I haven't even seen so much as a garter snake for years. We don't have leprosy-carrying armadillos, either.

(Sorry, just trying to rationalize why I live in a state that regularly gets to -40 and has five-month winters).

Minnesota is the coldest place I've ever been too! I don't know you guys handle it. My old bones would really be screaming if I lived there!!! lol

Skyways & tunnels. We run our cars to heat them before we get in, and run real fast when we get out. Actually, what helps is if we get our cold snap early. Once you've survived at week of -20, everything after that feels not so bad. By the time it hits +30, you don't even need a coat anymore. In the spring, above 45, people start wearing shorts.

I've already put in close to 12,000 steps and 12min. (3.4 miles) on my exercise bike for today. But, I have to admit that part of what keeps me motivated to exercise everyday is so I can have treats. :D

For instance, the little town I live in has Sweetie-licious Bakery Cafe, a little shop run by a nationally award winning baker.
