I was just discussing this with a friend. I will never understand how worked up people get about those who are different then them. I don't have that many {Moderated} to give to be honest. I've never hated or feared an entire group of people based on some widespread quality. . .

I mean, I can say like, Oh, the KKK is bad, or terrorists are dangerous. . . but that's really about it. I just don't understand hatred.

yeah I know what you guys mean --- I don't get any of that "tunnel vision" that many folks seem to have --- I have always tried to understand that in people but so far have not been able to understand it.

And even the "kkk is bad or terrorists are dangerous" is kind of wibbly wobbly to me. Like, yes, as a group they espouse ideas that I disagree with. But generally on an individual level, they're probably pretty normal human beings. They have family. They like grilled cheese. I can't hate them just because their ideas are different than mine. I can say, "Oh, you probably shouldn't ACT on those ideas, that's kind of screwed up" But, yeah, that's really it.

Though, I'm also very much a "Do whatever you want so long as it doesn't cause HARM to anybody else".

Yes strange. Due to my issues I have been plagued by fear for my entire life. However the fear driven hatred currently in our society is both amazing and sad.
It seems that many cannot dislike someone/something without hating them/it.
And wanting to totally eliminate them/it.

Fear makes sense to me. (Hello anxiety) But my fear is always very mundane. It's still never like, "Oh, I'm scared of terrorists."

    Driving in Snow
    Public Speaking
    Parties
    Spiders dime sized or larger
    Talking on the phone

Maybe it's a mixture of GAD (I'm just anxious about everything, I ain't got time for your terrorists) and privilege (I'm white, middle class, cisgender, and pass as straight pretty easily, I generally don't get harassed or attacked by people on the street or police or terrorists or whatever)

I haven't had time to read this thread. Everyone in my family has AS. We think/refer to it as evolution of the brain. Some of us have comorbid conditions that play with the AS. When I have time I will back read this thread.

Thank you for the welcome. I clicked on "watch thread" so I can find the thread.

About me: I have AS, OCD, anxiety, and ADD. I don't use medications. I use nicotine and behavior therapy (sometimes). I do have panic attacks and experience periods of depression. I can usually swim out of the funk.

    My husband denies his AS.
My son tried nicotine but settled on Prozac/Adderal cocktail. He is house bound due to his anxiety.
My oldest brother became a social worker. Yes, he did. His treatment: mass quantities of alcohol.

Ahh another one who gets fear from talking on the phone. And the strange thing is that I spent much of my career working in Telecommunications ;)

The truly crap part is that this is a newer issue for me.
I used to work customer service and not have an issue. I was a receptionist for a while and I think that's where the issues started. Now the phone ringing is filled with total dread. Even if I know the person calling. >.<

Same with the snow driving. I NEVER used to care about it. Now, I panic at the first hint of a snowy forecast. :(

Got my Zmax. Heavy sucker. No manual had to find one online. Just one button... Quickly discovered that neither my 650 ma Evods nor my Itaste VV 3's were actually putting out the designated voltage under load. Set it to 4.5 volts and burned taste, had to back down to 4. Still playing with the options on it vapes great though. Now I can do a dual coil in my Caterpillar dripper! I have 6 18650's so should be able to vape a week or two without recharging anything.

You hit the nail right on the head Cromwell --- I do not understand how many folks always have to hate something that they either dislike or that they do not understand? Weird for sure.

Same here. At age 24, I drove snow covered roads from Tulsa, OK to Show Low, AZ with never a hesitation. Now, I carefully consider the benefits of the trip against the potential of myself or an oncoming driver totally losing control with a closing speed around 50mph. Strangely, I attribute this to improved judgment.
