But seriously, If he isn't amish, next time you're out there, make him take you to Shady Maple Smorgasbord. It's like 30 minutes outside of Lancaster proper and 100% worth the drive to gorge yourself on the best of PA Dutch foods.

--- heck if you ever visit Lancaster then you might as well hop on over to the west a bit as I am in Western PA and you could visit me......... I know you don't like being around folks much but you might think about it sometime.I livrd in York back around 78 and used to eat at a place about halfway between York and Lancaster. Goodeatins. Can't remember nsme.
I don't like the eastern part of PA -- too many large cities and towns for my liking. Also, it is connected to the over populated New Jersey as well as being too close to NYC

And I'm a weird combination of city/country living fan, which is why I love Pittsburgh.
Without giving too much away, I live in a quiet section of the suburbs, I have next door neighbors close by, but I also have woods right out back of my house.
I like that I can be in the city in 5 minutes, or I can roam the countryside.
I was just out in Altoona area last weekend, and I'll be over in Delmont next weekend. Then over to Franklin PA, Ligonier, PA and Shakerwoods OH, all in the next few weeks. (I <3 fall craft shows). We spend a lot of time in the state parks up at Moraine or Erie over the summer.
I love the bike paths around the city, and that within a 15 minute drive or 40 minute bike ride I can be in the middle of nowhere.
It's a perk.

The city has a lot to offer.
I've worked downtown and lived in the city. . . and I miss it (mostly, I miss living on a bus line in the winter). But I do like the suburbs. There are perks of having a yard and your own house. . . like my puppies.
