Its funny because I'm not a debater in person. I hate it. But when I have time to sit back and compose my thoughts I can go on forever. :D

I still need to know about the military chapels though. It's really bothering me.
I will sister but I am doing other things at the moment. Don't let it bug you or bother you because I will indeed put the links here as I have it in my mental TODO list. It may be later on but I will get to it..... I am not a debater in person either but get me on a PC, or in my case a Mac and I am much like you..... See, I told you we have lots in common and this is just another small example..... So what if we have differences in certain theologies.

True, but some debates can turn confrontational. I'm not going to debate about debating. lol:D

lol -- yeah most debates turn out that way simply because people are often passionate about what they either perceive as facts or things they believe in. BUT, a wise person should still be able to learn from others even if there seems to be a bit of tension.

    I found this:

Army Regulation 165-1, 12-3k:”The chapel environment will be religiously neutral when the facility is not being used for scheduled worship. Portable religious symbols, icons, or statues may be used within a chapel during times of religious worship.”

“Symbols are to be moved or covered when not in use during services. Distinctive religious symbols, such as crosses, crucifixes, the Star of David, Menorah, and other religious symbols will not be affixed or displayed permanently on the chapel interior, exterior, or grounds. Permanent or fixed chapel furnishings, such as the altar, pulpit, lectern, or communion rail will be devoid of distinctive religious symbols.”

Which I think is SUPER fair. Everybody has a "safe" space to go to so that they may practice their chosen religion in peace without being bombarded by all the other religious iconography. They put up the stuff they want when they use the space and the next guy does the same thing.
Yep that is freedom of religion.
And freedom from religion as they do not make you attend.

ahhh a person that likes the safety of sitting on the fence lol
Debates are NOT supposed to be about "winning" or "losing" or getting mad, at least not "healthy" and mature debates..... Rather they were originally designed so that people can LEARN from each other...... I have learned much from other people through healthy debates and it is my hope that others may have gleaned something from me.

But you need to have an opposing view and I truly didn't have one. I'm not Christian, but I don't like that almost any reference to Christianity is being stripped from our lives. I don't like violence in the name of religion. And I don't like being confronted for not greeting someone in a certain way.

I don't think anyone was trying to police anyone. Just my opinion. So, can we change the subject?
    :D

No, it's only freedom of religion one one side. What about the churches being stripped of religious icons/references that have been used for a couple thousand years? How is that freedom of religion for believers? If we are to have TRUE freedom then it must be free for everyone. I get sick of always seeing references to religion constantly being stripped from our lives as @Enta pointed out.

    I can play a radio.

I never could even remember the words to a song let alone all the notes.
However I have friends who play and they say that I have the best ear for music that they know of.
    Strange....

And I can remember all of the words, and sight read complex music, but I'm very close to tone deaf. One advantage of being a very low alto though is that we rarely get to sing more than three notes. I did have fun one year in a very small church choir,, and they were short on tenors. So I got to sing the actual melody for a year, but I always needed someone with a strong voice behind or beside me who I could follow.

Nothing worse than having to cut and haul firewood during the cold winter months. I have had that happen to me b4 as I have ran out of firewood early and it is very difficult (and dangerous) having to cut wood in the slippery ice and snow.

I did winter woodcutting for a while. The beavers had actually taken some trees down for me and trimmed them up nicely, but I had to go through a frozen lumpy swamp to get there and cut them into manageable pieces. I decided that the crazy Scots sport of "Tossing the Camber" probably came about in similar circumstances. It was much easier to throw the cut chunks of wood ahead of me, (lather, rinse, repeat) than it was to try using a sled to haul the wood.

Of course that was also the year that I drank free, since tourist guys absolutely didn't think that a woman could beat them at arm-wrestling, and the local guys had a lot of fun setting them up.

Yikes! I just googled wood spider and you are NOT kidding. It's huge. Please keep them up THERE.

And you're from Texas? Home of Tarantulas and Scorpions? I lived in San Angelo one year and I've never seen so many large crawly things before or since.

Yeah I am pretty much exactly the same way. I watch the various news channels each and every day and it sure gets old hearing about all of the references to religion being stripped away. Never b4 have I witnessed such a thing as I have in the last 10 years or so. I also am not what people would consider to be a "Christian" as I don't go to church or travel around with a Bible in hand. Also, like yourself, I do not like violence in the name of religion, like what most non believers always use an argument and excuse against religion. Christians are being murdered by the 100's of thousands in Syria, crucified and hung upside down on crosses but I don't see too many people up in arms about it. Of course, that very thing is what is mentioned in the Bible as to what is going to be going on in our time and beyond. Of course, if one does not believe in the factual accuracy or predictions in the Bible, then the horrid crucifixion of Christians or anything else will not have much significance.

Yes we have quite a few large crawly things here. lol. I get the brown Tarantulas but I'm not really afraid of those. It's the scorpions and giant centipedes that scare me.

yeah when I see Christians being beheaded just because they are believers and people turn a blind eye to it then something is indeed wrong with this picture. If idiotic people assume or think that it is Syria's problem or that it is far off in some distant land and that it doesn't pertain to us then they better pay better attention because the problems that we are witnessing in the middle East are coming to America. If people think that can't or won't happen then they are sorely mistaken. The radicalized folks of the middle East are not going to stop until ALL Christians on the entire world are either murdered or converted to Islam.
