Maybe its just me but i got the glasso aspire bdc yesterday and 2 of the heads that came with it will not wick..... AT ALL. The one i even flooded the head out with juice then filled the tank and let it sit upright OVER NIGHT then in the morning i pop it on my itaste vv v3 and first puff on it is dry burnt and burns my throat. Any suggestions with a problem like this. I have one more head and if that one doesnt work i am going to just toss the whole thing in the trash. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Heads packaged with the aspire bdcs are notorious for being junk.

It seems aspire had a QC issue with the wicking material. If you look around the forum a member contacted aspire and they claimed to have changed the landscape of their coil building, so hopefully a pack of five will breath some life into your coils.

I've always had the same problem with Aspire stuff. I vape 70/30 juice most of the time and I find that they wick like garbage and get gunked up within 2-3 days of regular use. I could never understand why even my local vape shop only sells Aspire-type coil systems and hates on Kanger stuff when, at least with Kanger coils you can replace wick with cotton, dry burn them and recoil them so easily. To get an Aspire coil open you need to use pliers and yank at it FOREVER to get the stupid metal covering off and it's just a pain in the .... They're more expensive than Protank coils too. If anyone could explain to me how Aspire coils are amazing I would love to hear it.

I use the Aspire BDC clearos with no problems. The ones I have are 2 of the ET with plastic tanks and 2 of the ET-S Glass+metal surround tanks. They both use the same dual coil head. I also have a Nautilus but that uses a different dual coil head.

What type of e-liquid are you using, what PG/VG %? Since those standard BDC heads only have 2 holes to wick in e-liquid if you are using a thick liquid it might not wick well into the actual head and coils.

They do recommend putting 2 drops of liquid in the top hole and then tapping it on a hard surface to force those 2 drops down into the coil wicks.

You could also try taking a few drags on it to suck in the liquid.

Would be a pity if you jumped to conclusions and tossed a perfectly good tank only to discover afterwards that you battery happened to be defective.

Maybe your power level was too high; maybe there was machine oil in the tank.

Maybe you got a counterfeit set ?

I bought six Aspire Nova-S BDC pyrex models and have had absolutely no problems with them at all. Gave two away to a friend and two to his wife and none of us have had any issues.

Personally I just two days ago changed the original coils in the pair I've been running daily for six weeks. Popped two new replacement coils into some alcohol and let them sit overnight to get rid of any manufacturing nasties...shook them out and let 'em dry--popped them in and they were perfect.

Yes--I got six weeks out of the first two and I'm a chain vaper--but only because I vape unflavored and home brewed menthol(from crystals) exclusively.

Nautilus coil head have no covers. So it's not the nautilus coils you are having problems with. That is if you bought a real Aspire Nautilus.

I doubt its a defect battery. I have 3 innokin itaste vv v3s and all ove them if i vape it at 4.0 volts its a burnt taste and burning my throat same goes if i turn voltage down to 3.3volts also same goes if i put on a vision spinner at low volts or a egoc-twist with low volts. And even just a standard evod battery.. it seems like everyone that has ever bought these bdc coils are having great vape with them. Personally imo with atleast the coils that came with the set they are junk

And by the way i even tried just now to run some 100% pg (super thin) juice through it to see if it would wick thinking my juice might be too thick. Didnt work still not wicking at all. I did notice in the "wicking" holes on the side of the head it looks like there is something covering them from the inside i originally thought it was wick but after pulling the coils and wicks out of one i noticed its still there. Anyone with these coils see that or can shed some light on what it is. Because i also noticed i have a way tighter draw with this system than i have had with anything else

That's the material that carries the liquid to the wick that is through the coil.

You are entitled to your opinion but it doesn't match what I and it seems many others experience with these style clearomizers and heads.

So that leaves one conclusion. You are doing something wrong. What that something is I have no idea.

I can tell you this. I also have 2 Kanger Mini Pro Tanks V3 and the Aspire tanks I have work much better than they do.

Shootist - i assure you i am not.doing anything wrong it isnt very hard to fill a bottom coil tank and let it wick. I am tellingyou the coils ARE NOT WICKING there is something wrong with these coils im asking what to do about it? Not be told im doing something wrong ive been vaping for a long time and ive had alot of equipment i know how to set .... up

I'm not sure I can help, but 3-4 drops priming, filling the tank and ready to go right away for me since day one. I did get seemingly irreversible burnt taste with 2 attys: after accidentally drooling in the tube and after running dry for a hit or two. I then cleaned the atomizers with alcohol and water and they were doing a great job again after drying 12 to 16 hours. Did you try cleaning them?

2 holes (newer version) and I do see the white filler through them. Priming is definitely required.

Phil did a review on those and he even took one apart (zoom ahead to about 21:30):

They can be rebuilt with some skill and patience, but you might just need to change the wicks in your case. (Edit: wick seems to be sillica...)

I just remembered that the instructions did mention to run them at 4.0 volts for the first day, but I didn't really follow that myself. I did run them higher for the first 4-5 days...

Also, I had a juice with a walnut finishing note in 2 of them and can't seem to get rid of that taste just yet even after cleaning, but I haven't run those atomizers much since. The menthol took a couple of hours to disappear out of another atty and I didn't clean that one. Hope this is putting you on the right track.
