So in the midst of trying to locate some single coil cartos for my carto tank, I decided to buy some back-up aspire bdc coils for my aspire tanks. Horrible mistake. Apparently aspire is now making 1.6 ohm bdc coils for their et-s tanks. Didn't know this but thought I would give them a try. Anyways, first one lasted about a day. Started getting that awful burnt taste and thought it might have just been a bad one. Well I put in another coil last night and within 30 minutes of vaping, I started getting this awful burnt taste again. Tried vaping on it today and I would get these random nasty burnt tastes.

Well after my frustration with these coils subsided, I decided to crack open the coil. Got the cap off and realize that there is hardly any wicking material at all in the coils. I discovered maybe a sliver in just one of the coils. So I'm thinking the problem is that the coils had nothing in them to wick up fluid hence me getting the awful burn puffs. And when I say burnt I mean it was so awful tasting I'm still worried what the hell I inhaled.

I've noticed that the aspire bdc coils have dropped dramatically as far as quality is concerned. I remember these used to last me at least a week during my first few months of vaping. Very dependable. Now I consider myself lucky if they just work right. Has anyone else noticed a dramatic decline in the aspire bdc heads? Also these are dual coils so my mvp is pushing 8 watts (4 watts/coil). Nothing seriously hot yet something is burning. I don't know....I think I'm completely over these products and ready to write aspire off. Would love to hear other's stories. On the plus, I finally scored a decent amount of single coil 2.0 ohm cartos! I'm going to quit vaping entirely until the new cartos make it to my house. Hopefully they will be here by thursday so don't have to go without vaping much longer.

I haven't had any issues. My coils are lasting for weeks. I bought a bunch when I first got my tanks and have used 3 out of the pack (for 3 different tanks) and haven't had any issues. I hope when I have to buy new ones I don't run into trouble because I love these tanks and have a bunch of them.

That is exactly how it was for me in the beginning. I started noticing quality/performance drop off about a month ago. But nothing like cracking open a coil head and discovering there is hardly any wicking material whatsoever.

I had one go bad on me after 2 weeks. I rebuilt it with a single coil, cotton, 1.8 ohms (per riptrippers video). WOW is all I have to say. It is so much better than stock, that I took 3 brand new coils ripped them apart and rebuilt them as back-ups to my back-ups.

I have tried the cotton single coil rebuilds and I was just never able to get it right. Bad taste/burnt taste. I have considered buying a nautilus or kanger pro tank just so I can start rebuilding those coils. Those seem far easier to rebuild than the smaller aspire bdc coils.

Oh and I would also like to add that I don't understand why vape shops/companies push these dual coil heads. Most beginners start with these dual coil tanks and the batteries that they usually get don't have the amperage capacity to accommodate 7-8 watts on each coil.

So after craving nicotine today and refusing to buy any sort of coils until my cartos come in, it dawned on me that I have a brand new iclear 30 sitting in my mvp box that I never used. Filled it up and it is vaping quite nicely. Used ahlusion blueberry vanilla cake juice so I'm hoping that doesn't do any damage to the tank. My cartos should be in the mail tomorrow so I only see myself using this tank a few days max. But overall I'm impressed with this. Never used a plastic tank or a top coil wicking system like this.

See my thread I just started on rebuilding these puppies...only difference is I leave out that outer sleeve of paper for wicking and so far I'm having "great" success!!!!

Thanks man! Will try this tomorrow. I've got so many dead coils. Checking out your thread now. Also, I may have been a little rough on Aspire. I'm starting to think that I'm having a battery issue. It seems my mvp is not firing at the intended voltage/wattage. Ive tried my aspire tanks back on my ego sticks and things are working well. Contacted the seller I bought the mvp from and he said he will exchange it since I bought it back at the end of March.
