The more it looks like a cigarette, the simpler it is and the worse it will perform.

+1 on this. Personally, performance issues aside, getting something that didn't look like a cigarette helped me break my psychological addiction to cigarettes. If you vape on something that looks like a cigarette, your subconscious will always associate it with smoking. Think of vaping as something different than smoking, and I think everyone here will agree that it's better.

The device that got me off of smoking was the eGo-C. I find that it fits my lifestyle pretty well because I can just slip it in my pocket and take it wherever. I find it a fairly straight-forward and trouble-free device. Another option is an eGo battery with something like an eGo Vision Clearomizer or something comparable. Just fill and vape. It's a little overwhelming with all of the information out there on vaping and everyone's different preference. The vaping bug is pretty contagious, though, and if you dive in, you will get the hang of it in no time.

It's a little daunting to begin the juice hunt, but there are a few vendors out there that offer sampler packs. That's often a good way to go.

While I agree with others that there is no juice that perfectly imitates a cigarette, there are some that do a nice job of scratching the itch with a good throat hit and the right amount of nicotine. I think there are some great tobacco flavors out there too. Some vendors use naturally extracted tobacco in their juices. Personally I like Backwoods Brew, Alien Visions, and Want2Vape for their tobacco juice. But there's no reason to limit yourself to tobacco flavors. I think you will find that vaping opens up a world of opportunities that you never had with smoking.
