Way to stay strong.... The smell of the analogs probably wanted to make you vomit anyway!! LoL
After so many years of friends putting up with me smoking in their company, vomiting wasn't an option. :)

I did see a couple of vapers in the same area though and spoke with one of them. We shared information of what we were vaping and went on our merry ways. Having seen so few vapers in the wild I felt like I'm part of a brotherhood.

A friends birthday party at a bar with sliding panels raised that open to the outside. And probably the absolute worst place for an ex smoker to keep their resolve. Smokers blowing out the stench of their cigarettes all around me along with the usual "beverages."

Had it not been for my PV I'd certainly have back tracked and lit up and looking back at similiar situations when I'd quit many years before, I would have been smoking analogs all night and smoking them again.

So, I had my beverages, PV in my hand and vapor coming from my lips. Everything I needed at the time.

Still tabacco free for 1 month + and survived the "acid test" that I can say, with complete honesty, that I wouldn't have passes any other way!

I'll be patting myself on the back for this achievement for some time to come.

Congratulations!

I myself find it not too much of a problem anymore. I just keep puffing and block everything out. I find that being sociable is the best way to distract my attention away from analogs while getting my drink on.

Party down and vape on!

Ooooh I had a similar moment one week ago tomorrow. It was my 21st day without an analog and my first day out at the bar as a "nonsmoker." I had to walk through the smokers gauntlet a couple times and OMG I wanted one. I wanted on pretty badly I must say.

I feel like with my PV I could bum one at the bar without going back. But I didn't do it. I was good and I toughed out my abstinence.

I still have moments where I think of smoking. But I just grab my PV and vape. The craving passes every time. I was recently in Vegas and walking through casinos with smokers all over the place. The smell was horrible and I think that's what keeps me from going back to smoking, that disgusting smell. When I smoked my last cigarette it was like licking a dirty ashtray. Ugh, vile.

The longer you vape the further you get from slipping up and having a smoke. Not to mention the longer you vape the more likely when you happen to slip up it will taste horrible and will send you running back to vaping.

This is true, and in the future it will continue to grow. I use times like this to introduce smokers to the vape. Hey, if it worked for you and me, why not them too. I carry my mvp in a holster on my belt and take it everywhere, anyone asks about it I take the time to explain.

vaping has worked surprisingly well for me at bars....guys think it's so uncool and lame, but the girls really seem to like it.

i mean really like it.

so...good luck guys that are still smoking.

There is a wonderful motivator. I bet they are thinking 'mmmm, he won't taste and smell like an ashtray or be easily winded with heavy activity':2cool::vapor:

Congrats to the OP. The hardest part for me is not to smoke analogs after I have a few drinks... I still do it sometimes but my logic is it's okay for now because smoking a few cigs on a night I'm drinking (I don't drink nearly as often as I used to :p) is still much better than smoking a pack a day regardless of what else is going on. For a while I'd pretty much ditch the PV after a few drinks but last time I was drinking at my cousin's house who smokes like a freaking freight train, I puffed on my PV like there was no tomorrow until I finally gave in and had... I think 2 or 3 cigarettes. Used to be I'd burn through a pack just in the time I was at his house. Progress is progress, and I've had a pack with 3 analogs left sitting in my desk drawer for over a week now. Which just means I didn't use my famous excuse of "well, I guess I'd better finish this pack since I have it" lol

Edit: and to agree with Ohyeathat, I can't really bring myself to smoke an analog if I'm not drinking anymore. It used to be a pretty big temptation that I'd slip into from time to time, but the last time I did it I felt like I needed to lick some dirt to get the taste out of my mouth.
