I own an XVOStick clone and am going to order an envy22 on Friday from FT. From what I can see, the envy is 1/3 inch wider than the xvo and 1/6 inch higher. The flat front will add a bit to the overall circumference of the mod in your hand. The xvo is extremely comfortable in your hand. Issue with xvo clone for me (bought from 3FVape but they all seem to be the same) is that it does not deal with VW very well. In VW mode, you are supposed to be able to use a coil up to 2ohm but the clone gives the "ohms too high" message most of the time with any coil over 1ohm. You can still use it without any problem but it can irritate some people. It will also give you the "New coil" message even when in VW. You need to pick new coil in order to continue vaping. It does this sporatically. Now, I still love the mod even with these issues but I don't plan to buy another. The original xvo does not seem to have these issues but the vendor is not very good with support issues and they are in Israel. I don't think that I will have the envy22 for some time as it will not ship until after Chinese New Years and it takes forever to get to Canada.

The "ohm to high" message can be suppresed by setting the temp control to "off" on the clone. The "new coil" message unfortuntaly not....so that remains a bit annoying.
The form factor of the xvostick however is the bomb!! Best I know in a mod...very small, very convenient in the hand....I also have an authentic, which has no such issues, and it is my most used mod...and I also have sx mini, provari and dicodes devices....but the form factor is simply the best out there right now, making it my go to mod.

Don't own an athena so can't comment on that.

I got 3 from 3fvape and 3 from Fasttech, and 1 authentic from Chel's :) all my clones behave the same (no ohms to high with temp set to "off"), I find the ones with the blue screen give me less "new coils" messages than the ones with the white screen.
Unfortunatly you can't be sure which version you get, as I got a mix off both from ordering the exact same SKU.

Despite the issues with the clone, I still love them......(but obviously not as much as the authentic)

:pop:

following, and I'm a bit peckish.

I agree with Dru. Form factor is pretty much impossible to top (IMO). The authentics are truly wonderful, if no kinks.

Customer service appears to be improving, but that's a relatively recent change. A bit more air under their wings, maybe...

Our clones had the same issues, and we opted to let them go. That might not have been the case if we didn't have the authi's though, because the form is truly THAT GOOD.

I think that covers PeckishKat too.

Can't speak to the envy. If it offered external battery though, we'd likely be able to (speak to it).

I'm anti internal battery myself but took a chance & picked up the Athena, so far so good but it's only been a day. For my hands I actually prefer the larger size of the Athena since I can hold it easier without blocking the air intakes of the tank.

The build quality on mine is nice, no rough edges as I saw in one YouTube review. The chip has been rock solid. When I first got it I grabbed my new Bachelor tank with a Ti build in it & vaped in TC all day, didn't drop out or show any weird messages all day. When I got home I pulled the Ti build & did a SS 316L build. It wouldn't recognize TC with the SS build & would drop back into power mode when I fired it but that build is at .5 so that may be the cause. Regardless you can vape SS in power mode so that's where I've been running at 35w.

Here are some size comparison pics, I haven't broken out the scale yet to weigh it but the Athena for obvious reason's is heavier. Here are some side by side vs the Clownstick & one shot with the RX200 to put it all into scale.

The mod fired weak at 11% remaining on the battery indicator. When the battery is weak it starts to throttle back wattage in a similar fashion to the DNA40. It took less than 45 minutes to charge back up to 100%. I got 385 "puffs" according to the puff counter which equaled out to 4 tanks at 4ml each. When I received the mod it showed fully charged so I didn't even plug it in before using it. I got more than a full day's use out of the charge, not bad at all IMO.

The other mod I own that has a puff counter gets about 400 on a single 18650, all of that on TC, it only gets about the same 385 on wattage mode. Fwiw.

Agreed. At this point in time for me, the internal batt mods have somewhat lost their appeal. I like the look of the Envy tho, but, tiz not speaking my language (yet?).

Thank you for those pics, fishwater. Love the blue drip tip!

I have both & prefer the Xvostick or in my case the Clownstick. The Athena is heavy, a little boxy & chunky in the hand where the Clownstick fits the hand perfectly. Both have the same issue with blocking air on the tank but you can wiggle your fingers out if the way or change your grip. The Athena has a better screen & even though mine appears to have a defective battery or board it lasts longer than a single 18650. Other than the issue with this one (I have another on the long slow boat) the quality is pretty nice in the beefy construction sort of way. The Athena's TC is pretty good but like the Clownstick doesn't recognize SS in TC mode, only power. I've used Ti successfully in both with different tanks in TC. Overall the Athena isn't bad but the Clownstick out classes it slightly due to the slimmer, sexier body IMO.

I believe you'll find that the authentic Xvo is even better. I saw a significant difference, as did Kat, and now @pokemom too.

So I'm guessing it's a hands-down win for the Xvo, IF comparing the Athena to an authi. Even the clone appears to have a leg up though.

Thanks, fishwater.

I have the clownstick and am happy with it. Only use it in Power mode. I ordered an envy22 from FT. It is still on the slow boat to me. Hopefully next week. Kind of regret buying at this point but maybe it will surprise me!!

I hope what I said didn't make you feel that way because it isn't a regrettable purchase to me. It's a different mod with a similar form factor but has better battery life which is a typical trade off in this world.
