Hi, I'm totally stumped by this problem, and while I've looked to find the same problem from someone else I haven't seen anything helpful.

I have been running my Atlantis tank on my eLeaf 50 watt battery for a few months now with no problem whatsoever, but about two weeks ago the flavour has become repulsive and even resulted in gagging more than once. It tastes like a dry hit or old coil, but way stronger. My vape juice pours from the airflow nearly black and countless times a day. Nothing seems to alleviate these problems.

I've tried changing coils, but within hours this taste and leak is back. I prime my coils by dripping my juice inside the coil before attaching it to the tank, I close the airflow and inhale without firing a few times then I let it sit for at least half an hour, or even overnight before firing it.

I vape at 27.9 watts.

I have used numerous juices with vg/pg ratios ranging between 50/50 to 80vg/20pg with no difference.

I have taken my tank apart and thoroughly cleaned it.

I have tried multiple suggestions for fixing a flooded coil; firing it upside down, blowing into the tank, cleaning the chimney with a qtip, and even holding tissue over the mouthpiece and swinging the tank downward. No luck.

I have tried coils from different packs, from different stores, and have entered the authenticity codes for every pack and the tank into aspire's website and they all check out.

My coils read .7 ohms on my eLeaf, my boyfriend's eLeaf, the store's ohm reader and my ohm reader.

My tank still tastes foul no matter who's battery I've tried it on.

I'm at my wits end, and don't know why this has started all of a sudden. I've done nothing differently since getting my setup. Nothing seems to work, nor have I seen anyone with these problems that haven't had a simple fix.

I'm not new to vaping, and if I didn't drip I'd be screwed, but I love the convenience of my Atlantis. I can't afford a new setup, nor can I afford to change my coils every few hours.

Any thoughts?

I have the atlantis and i love it. While i have never had this problem myself i have an idea that might help.

I found after a couple of months the air intake on the base got pretty gunked up. I didnt like the idea of washing in water since it was my main unit and couldnt wait for it to dry so i picked up one of those air dusters. I took the base apart and blasted the hell out of the air intakes, all of them individually and then right through the mount. After doing this a few times and wiping clean with q-tips and then replacing the coil i found the coils lasted alot longer. I now do this process every time i change coils on the atlantis. I find the air duster can get to places on the base that q-tips cant.

My only other thought (of which im sure you're aware) is that the liquid intakes on the coil dont line up perfectly with the chimney when its tightened all the way. I usually tighten the unit up and then adjust the liquid intakes before vaping.

Hope this helps. Im no vaping expert and most of my troubleshooting skills are pretty novice but sometimes thats the stuff that works best.

I had a similar problem with my Nautilus. They are essentially the same design, just on different scales. The AFC holes open into a large, empty chamber that can get gunked up with condensated (is tha a word???) juice (the black stuff). Pull your coil out. Pop the pin out or the rubber insulator on the bottom. Fill it with dish soap and scrub out the chamber as best as you can with a q-tip like device. The rinse it. Rinse it again. And when you think it's rinsed sufficiently, rinse it one more time. Put it back together and give it a whirl. You may taste a dish-soapy flavor for a lil while if you didn't rinse it well enough, but it should take care of the nausea.
