Don't know if anyone has ever tried this but in my v1 diver in my billet box I use carto filler. I cut it down so the driptip doesn't squish it and use the backside of a drenmel but to wrap the carto filler around while putting it in the tube. You do want the tops of the wicks touching the filler. The spheroid gave me the idea but so far my v1 out preforms my v2. Don't get me wrong it's good too but I have no worries about dry hits no matter the juice level in my bb. One other thing I do in the v1 is use 2mm ekowool with a thin stran of cotton yarn in the middle if it. I do this by using a fat needle with the tip cut off so it doesn't go through the ekowool as I am threading it through. Just thought I'd share. I would go all cotton on the v2 but I like the taste of silica wicks :( I also have to admit I haven't had the v2 long.

I posted in the BB thread about v2 dry hits. You may be using too much wick. I've already rebuilt the v2 in my BB 3 times (well, more like 20, but the others were experiments) and it works perfectly.

But at some point I am going to try to leave long wick tails streaming out of the feed holes and fill a tank with Sera wool, just to see if it works. I haven't because my v2 has been working perfectly.

I'd be interested in seeing this... I'd more than likely never do it, but it would be an interesting experiment to see that's for sure..

I can't speak to the BB because I don't have one but my V2's perform much better than my V1's did..

I've yet to get a single dry hit or gurgling with the V2. The build is much easier, I've had no leaks whatsoever and the V2 looks pure sexy!

True, you said it... I second that (with my twist a bit!)

Ok everyone I have a quick fix for the loose drip tip issue. I tried and it works perfect. You take about 6" of Floss and wrap it around the drip tip between the gap of the o ring a few turns then check it. If it's to tight then take one turn off. Cut the waste a tuck the little end under the o ring.

Your way may work but the spheroid method I have explained is magical with the v1 and yes I now have had the v2 for 2 days and it works great but still dunno if it beats my v1 build. Btw the v2 like someone else pointed out works well but the v1 allows more thinking outside the box and play. The v2 works but just works. No problem with that but I do try and tinker with everything to make it better or more efficient. When you turn the v1 into a true carto you will understand. I don't think you could make it leak even if you put the ceramic lined up with the hole. The cera or batting would just absorb the extra juice and stop it at tje fill hole.......now to the creator if there is a v3 and use cera/carto filler throw me a bone or a prototype cuz I'm telling ya it's magic. All I had to do was turn the diver into a true carto. Btw it also catches any juice that wants to sputter into the drip tip by your cera/batting tunnel. So it acts as a condenser and feeding reserve somewhat. Had a better word for it but couldn't spell it lol. It also works somewhat with the a7oid drip tip but is ugly as sin.
