Sorry, I don't agree with this at all.

It's not a "dead" issue.. it's a performance issue. Atomizer mesh can get clogged or semi-clogged and no blowing in the world is going to get it out. Atomizer coils can get layers of baked-on gunk (e-liquid residue) on them, and you can't blow that off either. When these things happen the atomizer performance goes down substantially and many will find them unusable (but not dead). Soaking will often bring them back to "near new" performance.

That's fine, I never said anyone had to agree with it. But it is indeed true whether or not you want to hear about it.

There are countless threads on this. It's funny... on some days this topic will swing to one side (it's ok, worked for me man) and on some others it swings the other way (don't do it, it's bad man)... I think it just depends on who's logged on that day.

Many of us tried soaking in various things in the beginning (Coke, vodka, alcohol, Everclear, etc) and soon many found out that this is a death sentence for an atomizer. The ONLY attys I have killed have been from soaking. I learned my lesson.

Now I do not soak, and I have attys that have lasted for 3 months.

Even if the atty doesn't die right away, you have to break it in all over again (dealing with a nasty dry taste until it is broken in again) and it's simply not worth the hassle.

Do not soak your attys in anything, it is not needed and has been found in abundance to destroy atomizers.

Blow out any juice to unclog it, and at WORST rinse with warm water and allow to dry.

Most folks NEVER clean their atty in any way unless changing from one particularly strong flavor to another.

Unless your atty is dead (and remains dead after the less intrusive methods have been tried) do not soak them in Coke, alcohol, Vodka or anything.

I have an atty (my first ever) for my 901 that still works from March 09 that I have soaked in Smirnoff every two weeks since I got it. All my others too, and I have never had an atty die. They vape 10x better for about a week after doing this.

There is always a bunch of gunk floating around in the vodka when i pull them out. Im sold on it.

Oh and in response to Bandit I basically do wait until its "dead" and other non intrusive methods fail. What I mean is:

When the atty is so bad that its not fun to use anymore - to me its dead. I then try to dry burn a few times. If that doesnt work, I soak em. This ends up being about every 2 weeks.

That's the only time I'll do it... as a last ditch effort before it goes in the trash.

I've only been able to "revive" 2 of them, and both died soon after the soaking.

A lot of people use different flavors all the time, and do feel the need to rinse at least or clean if possible any residues. I hear especially the 'sweet' flavors are atty cloggers, so there may be some benefit for cleaning. I do have the opinion that once the coils are clogged with carbonized gunk there's no hope, but to really be able to clean the mesh does take a cutting type solution, I vote with EverClear, that stuff will clean the enamel off your teeth! Well, maybe not that strong...but I saw a guy the other day
'washing' his atty in hydrocholoric acid for heaven's sake, to go that far I think is too far!!
