I started cleaning my atomizers in 91 iso, then have been using Crest ProWhite for the past few weeks. It's working great to remove the caramel build-ups, but it seems that when I have to re-prime them, it's waayyy more harsh and having a hard time with the nasti-ness. Kinda tastes like the smell of a furnace that's not been used all summer except way worse. I'm trying to search for ideas on this, but haven't had much luck. Any suggestions please?? And thank you

then right at first I keep it very wet.
??? I don't understand what you mean by keeping it wet after cleaning? I thought that you were supposed to air dry them overnight after cleaning them
I wish someone would chime in about the CrstProWhite. I remember reading something about it but can't find anything. I think someone said it may strip the primer off of the atomizers, but again, I don't understand this

you really don't need to DRY atty's .....they like WET....their job is to wick & hold juice .... that is why they are shipped from factory w/primer (to keep them wet) dry atts burn up that is why we keep them wet........

I think how you got that they need to be wet is that ....if you clean them w/anything besides water you HAVE to rinse them w/water or pure grain alcohol....which evaporates... but that said ... you do not want them to have WATER on them for any longer than absolutely needed (rust & mold like water)

So what is best I THINK ? is to clean w/whatever .... rinse cleaner out ...blow out excess water & most of the posts I have read say to dry burn if you have man.batts (search for threads on that) then use a few drops of pg or vg or juice (to reprime ) then store or vape

And then there are cartomisers they need to be dried !! which is a whole other process  here a post from afew days ago re: carto's & drying

did that make any sense ? hope so & I'm sorry I know nothing about crestprowhite

Thank you- I have read alot about the dry burning, but am very leery still of doing this. I'm afraid of totally killing my atomizers because of not having the technique exactly right, I don't know.....I have heard of people using the mouthwash and am finding that it's working alot faster than the iso, but, it seems to be disintegrating my atty a little or something. And it seems like it's way harder to re-prime them. Since I'm not having much response on this, I will just go back to the iso cleaning

I Only use Iso 91% and never water. Crest I did use a couple of times. Dont care for it. It does clean but didnt notice that much of a difference in performace. If Iso doesnt do it, toss it and start on a new atty,, Since I started using Cisco attys I find that the build is superior to other attys that I have tried. Ikenvape 2.0 attys are very good too.. EM LR 510s also good..

no no no !!!! Don't ever toss semi gunked up but still working (firing ) attys !!!

De-bridge them it is so easy & I can't even tell ya enough about the flavor !! They clean lots easier too.

I have a peach that on the raw coil ...I swear that I can taste the skin & feel the FUZZ!!!!

My sister just brought me her 901 kit , cuz her face broke out , & refuses to try any more (whatever !! Jus makes me wanna smack her !!) but she liked watermelon YUCK ...so I just cleaned her atty & I think I got it out.. lets hope !

I used ISO ,soaked for awhile ,then ran water thru it,blew it out till the water stopped, then did a short/fast dry burns ,& dropped in some plain vg , let that sit for awhile , blew it out & reloaded vg , think i'll let it sit all night then blow it out again.

Another thing I have read around here is that ....after dry burns if you get a burnt flavor , you need to rinse it out & try again ....dry burns actually BURN the stuff off the coil which leaves ash that can taste bad ??? sounds logical ?? I have not had it happen yet tho ?

Ya know I was just thinking ....maybe the mouthwash is breaking down your wicking material which is what you are soaking when you prime ?........so IDK ??? but also sounds logical .........

I am using the 510's, does this help a little? I also vape mainly caramels or butterscotches, so my attys DO get gunked and I need to swap them out and use a new one, pretty much every day or two.
I am going to order cartomizers, about 15-20 of them and stick mostly with those, I'm thinking and I've found some pretty good cleaning techniques from a lady on here.
Once I recieve the cartomizers, I'm going to print out the instructions and try the dry burn thing. I have 7 or 8 atomizers, so I sacrifice one of em to see how this goes. I'm really leaning toward the boge cartomizers though and I'm pretty sure I can use those on my 510's as well.

I think I read about this on here too. Do you just keep the VG in the atomizers then until you're ready to use them? It would make sense as long as this isn't corroding them like the water would. I REALLY hate re-priming because as much as I try not to inhale while doing this, I still get some inhalation and then a sore throat......frustrating!!

"Just what I do" is use Everclear 95% or 190 proof. Two or three soakings until the booze runs clear. Stand them on paper toweling 24 hours with the thread side up, (I NEVER boil them in any water as your bridge wicks will immediately begin the oxidation process, rusting the moment they are reintroduced to room air even if you think you have blown them dry) re-prime with 5 to 6 drops of juice, go get a cup of coffee come back and gently blow out any excess and ENJOY! In 4 months now I have only lost one 510 atty. I also converted one to a bridge-less and find wayyyy to much time feeding it as there is NO wicking to hold the juice and the tendency to flood with the same 4 drops of e-juice with the drip method. Also the draw is way to light for me and NO difference in flavor enhancement.

But AGAIN---This Just What I Do, and there will be as many methods as there are vapers here.

OK!
Do not dry burn your cartomizers! Its so easy to fry them its not even funny. Dry burning a cartomizer is nothing like dry burning an atomizer and I severely advise against doing both. I have tried dry burning many an atomizer and I have found the results to be underwhelming. I would never try on a cartomizer though, I have an easy enough time frying my cartomizers without dry burning them.

I have never tried crest white but I have used alcohol to clean and neither do an acceptable job. Normally if I need to clean an atomizer I use warm water with a little soap, you rinse it a few times and suck some of the water through the atomizer a few times. When I really need to clean an atomizer for whatever reason I let it soak in peroxide for about 10 to 15 minutes, then I use the warm water/soap process. Using alcohol has done nothing but made my atomizer taste like junk for a while afterward... of course that goes away but peroxide is more gentle. Other people have talked about cola baths... I havent tried that yet but it doesn't sound crazy. If you need some tips on how to get bad tastes out of your atomizer then check out this article on my blog: Getting The Nasty Burnt Taste Out of Your Atomizer | eCigology

I use vodka, Bacardi Vodka. I just use a little to dunk the atty in...blow excess into a paper towel..leave alone for about 15 mins and bam..I'm done. I had 2 attys I thought were dead and the vodka cleaning worked. Not saying it is right or wrong but this has worked for me.

bacardi is rum. are you using rum? i don't think there'd be any difference, since it's all ethanol alcohol. but isn't that a little expensive?
